Sharon -- Please read the FAQ at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/FAQ-on-Moving-from-YahooGroups, entry #8, and come back with any further questions.

Hope this helps,

You can't do a transfer without paying.? If you just want to start a new group and invite everyone to join, see /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Inviting-new-members? You can also pay for a Premium group for a month and Direct Add everyone that you have an email address for, see /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Direct-Add-From-Yahoo

Thanks just for clarification that I hadn't don't it wrong . I did do the export CVS one and it showed too much info name emailing address date etc. So I thought I must have done something wrong so I scrapped it . So what we need to do then is c/p each email only to the invite? I was thinking it would just be memberlist only with email

Per the Invite page...email addresses can be pasted into the box in the form:

  • email@...
  • ? ? ?or

  • Display Name <email@...>

?

There can be only one email address per line, no commas or anything like that.

You can instead click the Browse link and upload a flat text file containing all the email addresses in the same format. Do not upload a CSV or Excel file, it will not work.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Robert -- It's okay if some have the display name and some do not.

Just note that any single entry [read: line] not conforming with either standard will throw an error and fail to be processed.
