Shutting down activity on Yahoo! #post-transfer

Hi all -

I am writing for advice from people that have already made the transition from Yahoo! Groups.? I have a group of about 3K members that is 17 years old, and I want to make sure we keep our archives intact.??

What did you do to ensure that you didn't continue to have people posting on the Yahoo! side?? Did you delete the group?? I want to make sure that once we're set up here, I don't have people continuing to post there.??

Thanks in advance for your experiences and guidance,
Natalie

Natalie -- Assuming you have already sent the group a notice of intent to transfer, you only need follow up with those who didn't get the message. The easiest way is to put the entire group on moderation. See?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups#Y21group-after-the-transfer?for details.

Regards,
Bruce

Hi Natalie

In the yahoo group management settings you can set it so that nobody can post to the group. ?I did this and it has worked.

Natalie or anyone else if you want to still keep the yahoo group and not get mail there you can do that. I did.
?
There are settings where the only mail activity is from the owner.? It is under management and settings. Then there is no mail unless you write something and no one will see it but you.

Thanks Bruce and others for the quick reply.? I've let the group know and made the setting changes.? Looking forward to a seamless transfer in the coming days / weeks.

Hello,
I have tried everything but I don't see where I can put the entire group on moderation without selecting every last member individually, and we have over 2,000.
I am an owner and under Manage Members, there is not a select all or a box to select all members to change email.? Please tell me what I am missing here.
Thank you,
Kathleen Matlock

Under Admin Settings go to Spam control.
Select all messages to be moderated - All messages require approval before being sent to the group.
