Invitees on hold until "approved"

I'm receiving this message while trying to invite our club members to our group:

You have reached the limit for number of invites that can be sent out without approval. Once your new invites have been approved, they will be sent out. You will receive a notification when this happens.

Trying to convert our membership from another Forum board to Groups.io and it appears this is going to be problematic.?

How long do I have to wait until I can resume sending invites?? ?

Laurie -- This happens whenever you send more than 20 invitations within a 24-hour period. See??for an explanation of why this limit exists. Yahoo groups has a similar requirement, designed to thwart those who would set up a group and use it for spamming purposes.

The remaining invitations in your most recent batch will usually go out within a few hours. However, because groups.io support is on vacation until 4/29 so it could take a little longer than usual (ref:?).

Go to Admin>Invite and click on "Sent Invitations" to check status (or wait for the promised email notification). Once your latest batch does get approved, I suggest you send *all* your remaining invitations at once. You can do this by uploading a plain text file,?containing all of the addresses, one address per line (and nothing else). In doing so, you will probably experience a second delay...but two delays are better than multiple ones.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Happy to help.

I've also added a wiki page at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/20-Invitations-Limit, as this question seems to come up on a fairly regular basis.

Groups.io should put that information in their Help FAQ. It was hard to find the answer in the search of this Group Managers Forum.

It's generally understood that documentation has not kept up with feature development. There is a groups.io manual in the works (ref:?). I'd imagine a lot of our wiki content will eventually be rolled into it in some fashion.

Jenny,

Groups.io should put that information in their Help FAQ.
I think that's a good idea.

I encourage you to post it in Groups.io's official suggestion box:
