New to Groups.io #question

Hi I am new to Groups.io and have just had my Yahoo group transferred.? My question is will there be a 'Links' page similar to that in Yahoo added to group options any time soon?
We are a Charity Knitting/craft group and have a lot of Links to websites for patterns etc.
We also use the Databases to track our donations each month e.g. who is supporting a collection, when they send their donation etc.
Having Links mixed in with our Interactive Databases is a total mess and going to cause a lot of our elderly not so computer savvie members a lot of anguish.
If this option will not be available does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can put our current Links to get them out of the Database page?? TIA

We had a links page on Yahoogroups.?
We now have a wiki on Groups.io
Works well.?
There are help pages in using the wiki if you are new to them.?

There is currently no way to create a "new" menu entry at left for your Links.?Groups.io is not a Yahoo clone, and there are a number of instances where your subscribers will have to learn to click somewhere else.

Probably your best option is to put the links in a wiki page and make that page "sticky" so it also appears at the top of the Messages section. Option #2 is to just insert them into your home page. Option #3 is to create a links Member Notice and send that to your subscribers periodically.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Thanks Frances and Bruce,
I really need help sorry -- have looked for a Wiki Help page but cant find anything.
Can you point me in the right direction.
I have never used a Wiki before and really have no idea what they do!
I am open to new experiences tho so hopefully with a little help will be able to carry on myself.
Thanks in advance,
Pam

Perhaps ironically, it is on GMF's Wiki: Wiki Guide for Users and Editors.

Wikis are just a quick and easy way to write web pages*. In the case of Groups.io's Wiki feature you create the pages using a text editor that is almost identical to the one used for messages (New Topic and Reply). You can think of your group's Wiki as a collection of messages that weren't sent to the group, but instead were posted to the Wiki section.

* The name comes from "W" - wikiwiki being a word in Hawaiian for something quick or speedy. It is also a play on the "www" (World Wide Web) designation used for website pages.

Hi

Here is our travel wiki - the table of contents and a page of links. All links are clickable.

There is a link from the table of contents to the topic / page Travel Tools.

Lots of other uses for a wiki too!

Frances

We have a group for quilting and sewing and had the same problem. I was directed by helpful members here to use the wiki method and it does work well. It just takes time to learn the best way to do it. The process is slow. I have set up a wiki page for each topic. Then when adding a new link, just use the edit button for that topic and add your link with description.

Thanks so very much everyone.
You are wonderful!!
I will read up and give it a go.? It sounds like it will be the best option for us.
Wish me luck

Humbly yours,
Pamela
