Is this a bug or normalcy?

So just a few moments ago, I went to go to the group website of one of my groups that I am moderating. And I was looking at a pending member. And I went to go confirm set up make sure their email address was a legit address. Well within doing so, I also CCB moderators as well. And whenever I did that, it also put the group footer below my message. So it looked as if I was sending it to the group. Is this normal, or is this possibly a glitch that needs to re-reported to support.

Was the user in "not confirmed" status? If the NC status badge is missing, then the subscriber has already confirmed his email address.

I wish there was a way to resend the groups.io confirmation email, similar to the way bounce probes can be resent.

There have been many recent changes to message footers so it's entirely possible that something weird may have slipped through the cracks. Can you send us a screenshot of this footer??

You can resend the confirmation message. You have to do them one at a time, but if you click on the person with the "NC" label in the members list at the bottom of the Members settings page is a button to Send Confirmation Email.

I have a few list members in the not-confirmed limbo. I try resending the confirmation message from time to time. So far none have followed up and confirmed their addresses. I think I should probably give them a certain amount of time and then send them an email directly to see if they are still interested in being on the list and then delete them if they are no longer interested.

Okay, first of all I don't feel like a screen shot as necessary. Anybody can run the steps. I just asked if it was weird her normalcy. Which is why I titled the subject the way I did. Here is the instructions to follow which I guess I should've provided in my original email. Go to your members list select the member that you want to message. My clicking the checkbox and then clicking the actions button and clicking send message. Then once you click send message type your message, then hit send to group. Dan go to your email. Look at your email and find the message that was sent to your email because you hadn't also selected the BCC moderators. Below that message, that you sent to the member, plus BC seeing yourself had put the group footer below it. Now, is this normal behavior from the owners address or it not normal. I don't recall this happening before any time I've used the owners email to send out a message to a member.

Joseph,

Well within doing so, I also CCB moderators as well. And whenever I
did that, it also put the group footer below my message. So it looked
as if I was sending it to the group. Is this normal, or is this
possibly a glitch that needs to re-reported to support.
It isn't exactly the same as the normal group footers, but it appears to be normal - at least I'm seeing it going back to February of 2017.

A key distinction is that it is From the group's +owner address, which no normal posting would be. It is also To the member's email address, where normal postings are To the group's address (even in the copy delivered to members).

Okay, thank you. This is much appreciated. I think that's, look confusing to some people. Especially it somebody sends a message to the owners address and somebody like myself replies back with using the owners email as I do. I don't want them to think that day got that reply sent to the group. Somebody could think this, if in they don't check the headers closely.

True.

I try to make a habit of starting the subject with "Offlist -- " when I send messages to members like that.

If I'm in the pending list and asking about a pending message I'll usually put "Pending Message -- " in front of the message subject.
