[email protected] invalid address #transfer

Following the instructions for Yahoo groups transfers, I sent from my new group an invite to [email protected], but when I checked the 'Sent invitations' tab I found the following reply:

Invites Processed: 1
Invites Sent: 0
The following email addresses had errors:
[email protected]: Invalid email address

What's wrong?

You're supposed to send it from your yahoogroup, not your new group. "Transfer" has to be a moderator of the group to access the messages, member list, files, etc., in order to transfer them.?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Did you copy and paste the address Marina?

I did that of course and had the same problem but when I typed it in myself it worked.

Debbie,
?
Last night and again this morning I tried sending an invitation to the [email protected] from my Yahoo Group that I want to transfer to groups.io..
?
I received the following message response from Yahoo Groups.
?
¡°Sorry, an error occurred while loading the content.¡±
?
I tried sending invitations to one of my other email accounts and received the same response as the one in red above.
?
I sent an email to the GroupManagersForum earlier today but have not received a response.
?
My question was can I request an invitation from in any other way other than through the standard invitation process via Yahoo Groups.

This is what Mark wrote yesterday in the beta group:

" There's a large backlog of group transfer requests, and I'm trying to work through them. But what's difficult at the moment is that I'm getting a ton of duplicated invites to Yahoo Groups (I have 442 sitting in my mail queue at the moment). Apparently people are getting errors from Yahoo when submitting invite requests, and then submitting invites again, over and over. If you get an error, most likely the invite still went through and you do not need to submit an invite again. "

Just a reminder to check in your yahoo group Member section before?you keep?trying and clicking the invitation button a bunch of times, sometimes Yahoo is showing that error message you quoted, but it has actually sent out the invite to the transfer email addy, and they have joined.? It happened with me that way.? Also, Mark did send out a message asking folks to check because he was being inundated with invitations from Yahoo, sometimes many from the same groups.? Thanks.

I tried sending an invite from my YG group to a new email address (one of my extras) and despite hitting "invite" several times, the invite did not come through. It doesn't show in the pending member list. Nor does the activity log show that any invites were sent out. On the other hand, despite a very active group, no commands showing since Jan 29, so clearly that's not reliable either...

That's a known bug. Stop sending the invite. It IS getting through. It's the error message that's false. ;p

Oh, re-reading, are you saying YOU are at the other end of the invite, and it is NOT getting through? I see. Not sure what's going on, in that case.?

The same for me. I sent an invite from my Yahoo group because I kept receiving an error message, but the activity log does not show any invite and there is no pending subscription (in my Yahoo group membership requires approval).

I have had that problem repeatedly on a group I still have on yahoo.? Usually it lasts for 3 days, and then seems to sort itself out. I just keep going back and trying to send the invite, and eventually it seems to get through. Just another one of the ever growing list of hiccups on yahoo.

I think this is likely the case when yahoo claims an error while loading the content. One of my invites went through before the situation cleared up at least one time.
