Re: Problem replying in Thunderbird using message footer link

Hi Robert,Pablo, I tried starting Thunderbird in Safe Mode, with all Add-ons disabled, but the behavior of the Reply links is unchanged. This tells me that Add-ons are not the cause of the problem. Thanks for letting me know that upgrading to TB 68.x does not solve the problem either. I'm in no hurry to move to that version in the midst of all the other chaos of transferring nine Yahoo! Groups to Groups.io. Robert R. |
Re: How to create a new member sign up questionnaire
How does the Google form compare with the Groups.io Pending Subscription Notice?

Re: How to create a new member sign up questionnaire
I created a Google form and placed a link to it in the Pending Subscription Notice. I have the Google form set-up to notify me when I get a new submission so I know when to approve a new member. I like using the Google form because I can set it up so that the prospective member has to answer all the questions without skipping any and causing me to have to send more emails requesting the info. Hope this is helpful.?

Group membership requests
I own a group which is not listed in the Groups.io directory, has private archives and a restricted membership. Occasionally I receive requests to join the group directly from the groups.io group - about one or two a year. In the past 24 hours I have received 8 such requests to join the group all emanating from the USA. Has anyone else which a similarly constituted groups.io had a similar experience to this please?
The usual method of joining my group is via a public website which contains a membership form which prospective members can fill in and send to me. The name of the groups.io group is not shown to anyone until they have filled in this form satisfactorily. Any comments, observations, etc would be welcomed. Margaret UK |
Re: Pictures will not show up
If the user is using a different email address for reception, this can be the case if he is using email forwarding service, like I do, he has to add this email adress to his aliases at the user settings page. This is one big advantage compared to the yahoo system. At groups.io I can answer mails from a bunch of different email addresses if they are set up in email alias page. Regards, Isidro |

The subscriber may be logged in, but the email address he is logged in with is not the one that's subscribed to your group. Have the subscriber look at a group message. In the message footer, at bottom right, there will be an email address in square brackets [like this]. If he logs out, then logs back in using that email address, then he should be able to see the photos. See also?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Group-Content-Is-Missing Regards, Bruce |

For your first question, yes, you can just pay for 1 month of premium.
See #8 Moving members in: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/FAQ-on-Moving-from-YahooGroups For your second question, you can move messages yourself. If you don't have many, I guess you could forward them from YG. Or download them and save them outside Groups.io. Possibly you could upload them in some format in Files (say, as a PDF). Starting off with a Basic account

[If these questions have been answered already please forgive my asking again; I searched but didn't locate them, specifically.]
For those Ygroups with a relatively few members, say 200 or fewer, would setting up a Basic IO.group first, then upgrading it to Premium for one month be permissible if one were wanting to manually direct-add the members 20 at a time? And in the event that a particular group only has a few hundred messages (e.g., 4- or 500) would they be able to manually move the messages a batch at a time while their one-month Premium upgrade is still active? Or does moving messages over ¨Ceven manually DIY¨C require a Premium account for one year? Just curious . . . . Paul M. CostaRicaLiving https: //groups.io/g/CostaRicaLiving == |
Re: Account [for upgrading to a premium group]
Susan,
But I don't do it until transfer is set up,You upgrade before starting the transfer. Stay Calm Don't Panic Just Read the Instructions (print them out if needed). ... and any other calming, reassuring phrases I can think of. Take it step by step and you'll do fine. Re: Account [for upgrading to a premium group]
You must pay ahead of time or your site won't be moved.
2. How do I move my messages, photos, etc. to Groups.io?
You must subscribe to Premium for 1 year and use the Transfer Agent if you want the Groups.io transfer agent to move your Yahoo group for you.
?
3. How much does it cost for a premium account?
The cost is $110 USD per year for a Premium account. This allows you to use the groups.io transfer agent. You can change back to Basic after the year if you wish.
FAQ on Moving from YahooGroupsSource: And in /yahootransfer Premium Group Required
For the transfer, we ask that you sign up for the Premium Yearly plan (you can downgrade to free after a year if you wish).
?
Steps To Transfer Your Group
These steps must be done in this order otherwise the group transfer process will not happen.
Create your new Groups.io group and upgrade it to premium for a year.

Re: Account [for upgrading to a premium group]
Shal, I just have one group so when I clicked on upgrade it was ready to charge me for premium.? But I don't do it until transfer is set up, right? Or do I pay ahead of time? Susan Susan, > When you have an account, do you put your credit card information in > after the transfer has been initiated or can you put it in your > account now? Not in your account. You enter your CC info when you upgrade the target group (to Premium Yearly). Each Groups.io group must be upgraded separately, paying its own fee. See the Upgrade page (in the Admin list for the group) and click on the View/Change Plan button. Addendum:??
I see that many of my TBird Add-Ons upgraded so when I fell back to? 60.8.x, they were disabled.? This leads me to believe there's a conflict with one of my Add-Ons.? At this point, I'd strongly suggest starting TBird in?Safe Mode or manually disabling your Add-Ons and birfucate enabling them.? I suspect you (like me) have a misbehaving Add-On.? ;) |
Laura, I don't know of anyway to put emails in a folder or organize by subject.
All messages are kept on the site in the Messages archive so they remain available. This is a bonus for committee work. There is a search engine as well. The only way to easily organize them is by hashtags. As owner, you can preset some hashtags so that members can't create new ones.?I tend to tidy up and add hashtags after the fact because you can actually find posts through the hashtags. And I merge messages after the "conversation" is over for future reference. Easy to do. You could copy and paste some important posts in the wiki. There are files and databases. I use files for important documents - upload them.? And of course, you can create subgroups to focus discussions a bit.
