If you want to have it sent for new members, you must go to Admin, Settings, Member Notices. Create a new notice Welcome. Make it active.?
You may want to put your guidelines in the Member Notice Group Guidelines. This makes it appear in the left sidebar menu. It can also be sent monthly. However, don't tick that if you don't want it sent out. Make sure it is active though.

To be sent automatically, the notice must be set to Active Message.

Mass Edit/Change/Apply Hashtags to Existing Topics/Messages

Is there a way to edit, change, or apply hashtags to an existing topic or set of messages?

In a group for which I am an owner, we chose a set of hashtags to describe a regular topic, and this turns out to have been a poor choice. The exact example is for our monthly meetings, which we originally taged as #Monthly #Meeting. It would be far simpler for the members to understand if the hashtag was #MonthlyMeeting instead. I would like to change the hashtags from #Monthly Meeting to #MonthlyMeeting, or at least add #MonthlyMeeting to the existing topics and messages. I've searched the owner's manual and searching this forum and have not found a solution. I know I can edit the name of the hashtag, but this does not change the hashtags used in the message subject.?

Have you thought starting your own group doing the same thing this group does now?

On a mobile device or in mobile view on a laptop/desktop (narrowing the browser window makes it switch to mobile view) the menu options that are normally on the left side are accessed using the hamburger icon at the bottom of the screen.

His display of menu items in the main group won't change. Is he actually in the subgroup when he's looking at it?

Hi - have just appointed a moderator to run my subgroup. Set appropriate moderator preferences etc for him - updated the settings etc - but he is not seeing his left hand menu change from what it was before as a straight member . Cant understand that - any ideas please what might have happened ? barry

Are you saying he doesn't see Admin in the lefthand menu? The moderator needs at least to see Pending, members, invite, activity at least. (That's what I see as moderator for this group.)?

See?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-moderator-notifications-about-group-activity

This is a volunteer user-to-user group, so we can't do anything more than you can.? Unfortunately, we see this quite a bit when an owner doesn't have a co-owner or at least a moderator with all privileges.? Your only option now is to contact [email protected] to see if they are willing to get involved.? Be aware that they tend to ignore requests from free/basic groups, concentrating on Premium and Enterprise groups that are paid.

I see that Richard's last post was about 3 years ago.? If you have access to the Activity log on the group, you should be able to tell if he's done anything since then.

Your assistance in this matter would be much appreciated, or if not perhaps who best to contact that might be able to assist.

Hello, This is a peer-to-peer support group, with no management as members or monitoring it. So we can't get at the admin side of your group. Have you tried to contact the group-owner (whoever is that now) by emailing?[email protected]

I see there are active members - GaryD52 etc. ?
If all else fails, you can email [email protected]
but first check this out: ?/helpcenter/faq/1/group-owner-moderator-faq/q-the-sole-owner-of-a-group

Group owner - MIA

James S. Brown

开云体育

Good morning…

I am a moderator – actually, the only moderator – on [email protected] | Home group. The group owner Richard Barker appears to have fallen off of the face of the Earth over the past year or so and doesn’t respond to any emails and/or participate in any group-related activities so I can’t help wonder if some misfortune may have happened to him…(??)

Several years ago, Richard contacted me and asked if I would consider taking over as the group owner as IIRC he was experiencing some health issues. I replied in the affirmative and wished him well, but then…nothing – never heard anything more…(??!)

Is it possible for you to contact him directly by telephone and/or mail and see what’s going on? As a moderator, I am limited as to what housekeeping tasks that I can do (such as updating our group cover photo and description, both which are sadly out of date) so I would like to be able to do that, either by expanding my moderator privileges if Richard is still involved or by transferring the group ownership to myself if he has suffered misfortune or perhaps even passed on.

Your assistance in this matter would be much appreciated, or if not perhaps who best to contact that might be able to assist.

Best regards.

All of that is automatically added to the messages when they're sent out to members.? If you get one without it, the message was sent directly to you, not via the Groups.io site.

You can add additional information in your own Separate Message Footers.

My parents had this happen to them not too long ago and their email had been hacked and the person who hacked it sent all new emails to their SPAM folder. I had to go in and change the setting then changed their password so that the hacker couldn't gain access again at that time. Could this have happened to yours?

Re: Unsubscribed from my own group where I was owner

Hello Andy and all

When this happens and it's happened before, I signal all of the messages from clients etc; as "not spam" and as this has happened before, I assume that I did this for GroupsIO in the past
But what happened two days ago was exceptional as nearly all the emails from regular correspondences was in the spam folder when I looked.

Nice idea but it was actually Ymail that threw a wobbly (went crazy) and put all my incoming mails into my spam folder

Have you added those group addresses/domains to your Whitelist/Safe Senders list or whatever Ymail calls it?? Groups.io messages should not be ending in your spam folder but then again with Y you never know sometimes.
