I’m the owner of a Yahoo group.

I’m planning a migration. I have just paid my annual premium groups.io fee and set up a forum.

I worry about GDPR compliance if I automatically migrate users. So I’m planning to notify them myself about the move. (I’ve dumped all emails from my group.)

If I uncheck the “Transfer Members” checkbox when migrating, can someone confirm that my Yahoo members’ email and other profile info do not come across and that my Yahoo members will not be notified in any way?

What happens to posts in the above scenario? Are email addresses removed from the postmark/banners of Yahoo messages?

I suspect the infrastructure at Yahoo is failing. During the past weeks, files and attachments have been inaccessible.? Does anyone have any additional insight into this?? Can I migrate everything possible today, and then retry file migration in a week or two, in the unlikely (IMO) that Yahoo fixes their problem?

I may be merging a second Yahoo group into this one. I’ve read somewhere here I’ll be able to do that.

Any suggestions or help on any of the above?
