Thanks for your replies.
I'm sure I had the coordinates correct and the UTC. The one I am least certain about is the Gemini date/time format. I will cheeeeck that.
Yes, I am at Long -82 degrees 41 minutes 16 seconds (W), Lat 28 03' 29"?
It's 6 miles east of the Gulf of Mesico, 30 miles west of Tampa and 16 miles north of St. Petersburg.
I do a lot of public outreach with the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club. Or did when i had a mount I could manage. This one has me stymied.

Hi Steven, it's hard to tell if you've entered all the correct parameters without seeing what Gemini itself reports for each one. One thing that you may want to do is to reset the mount completely, to all defaults. The best way to do this is to take out the internal battery (or slide a piece of paper or plastic between the battery and the top contact). Do this while Gemini is? unpowered, and keep the battery disconnected for a minute or two. This helps to clear out any corrupted values from Gemini memory, which could happen with G1 if the power ran low or had an intermittent connection to Gemini. You'll need to re-enter all the correct settings, again, after this. If it still doesn't work, maybe share the exact settings you see on your Gemini hand controller here, exactly as they are displayed (or take a photo of the HC). Sometimes the format looks correct but may not be what Gemini expected you to enter. Regards, ? ? -Paul

G11G onstep with ovision worm for sale.
Hello there I hope this is authorized, I have a G 11 that has an outfitted on step from Peter ~ it has an oh vision worm and a hand controller to allow for continuous motion. Peter has been working very closely with me and the mount guides wonderfully and he has even recorded its performance of the controller. I have a custom pelican case that both halves of the G 11 can stay in/be shipped in and it includes the captains wheels for the clutches.? And the nicer thicker screws for mounting. I'm asking for 2300+ fees and 1/2 of shipping. It also has several additional counterweights. I live in Indianapolis and would be happy to drive 200 miles? It is essentially a new mount!? it has been cleaned and regreased as well, please reach out. 317-430-1010

I tend to agree with Brendan. IME when I owned a Gemini 1 to power my old G11 I always used a straight 12V 5A power supply and had not issues slewing with a C14 in the saddle. I used it well balanced and the servo motors had very low hours on them at that point. I think the higher voltage can help with less well balanced payloads and servo motors with a lot of hours on them and in the case of lower quality power supplies that are rated higher but do not reliably deliver more than 12V 5A. If your servo motors have a lot of hours on them moving a heavy payload the higher voltage may help.? The DC motors used in the servo motors are relatively small brushed motors and given the tiny commutators they use it should come as no surprise to see these older smooth non-heat sink servo motors failing this late in their lifespan.? ? -- Chip Louie Chief Daydreamer Imagination Hardware?

Ken, I recommend you don't connect the computer just yet. Do everything with the physical hand controller. Either write down or take photos of the HC display for geo location, time zone, time and date settings, as well as mount type. When you start adding in PC software, you're introducing more variables that may change the outcome, so start out simple. But sure, if you want, post the screen shot of the Telescope Settings and Advanced Gemini settings from the ASCOM driver, as these may give a clue as to what's going on.

Steven, I used the 2032 battery in my newly acquired GM-8 and it worked fine, but since the 2354 is a thicker battery, I had to use a thick washer on top of the battery in the holder.....and i ordered a 2354 from Amazon! hope that helps!
