The FTDI I/O chip is the gold standard which is why there are so many fake FTDI chips in the market stream and why I recommend buying a converter from a supplier that only uses authentic FTDI chips

Fully agree on using FTDI chipset -- historically these have been more compatible and stable converters for use with Gemini. Regards, -Paul

What is your configuration? If you have stepper motors then you probably don¡¯t have Gemini. If you do have Gemini, which one, Gemini-1 or 2?

Hand controller
I am unable to move my stepper motors with my hand controller. I have made sure that pec is turned off. I purchased my G-11 in 2005. How to I fix this?

Annnd I should have said check battery voltage is getting to the SRAM/RTC thru D1. https://gemini-2.com/faqG1.html#Q15 Maybe check diode D1 with ohmmeter on diode function. ? Check it switches ok
