ASIAIR + (256G) , Gemini, intermittent problems PA

I’m experimenting with the new AA+ (256G which uses a different controller than AA+ 64G). I usually use sharpcap or NINA. When field setup and PA, sometimes the PA doesn’t always slew the mount at the correct speed to advance to the 60° mount position. The speed seems like Gemini centering speed . And hangs. So I back out of PA function, return to CWD, disconnect the mount within the app, reconnect the mount. ? It works fine then?
?
Mount : G11/mini Gemini II latest firmware (not level 6)
?
Anyone else experience this issue?

cheers
mike

That bug has been around at least two years. ?Simply look at the speed in the lower left of the HC and put it back in SLEW rate, then proceed; manually drive the OTA to the 60 degree position.?

Some workaround by changing their HC speeds. I actually use my various speeds so I just manually correct it. About 1 in 5 times I have to restart the process in the Air, but this is not something that just AA+ does.?

Hi Mike,

This is a known minor Gemini 2 settings issue but easy to fix. Just set your Gemini 2 MOVE speed to 400 and it is fixed. Normally it will be resolved until you update the Gemini 2 firmware version, do a HGM reset or whenever there is a new version of the ASIAIR app installed that also downloads and updates the ASIAIR's hardware firmware.?

That’s not a “fix”, it’s a workaround, so Mike understands what’s he’s actually doing to Gemini; if he ever uses move he should expect the OTA to take off.

It happens that René?in L6 made an adjustment to the MENU->SPEED->MOVE+/- functions.? These buttons change the Move constant by +/-50 units.? In L5.2 new values only take effect after restarting the Gemini-2.? In L6 these adjustments take effect after adjustment.??Making Move adjustments easier. (Ramp up / ramp back)

Yes and it works very well resolving the issue for many folks who use their mounts with other apps or manually in addition to the ASIAIR. The ASIAIR folks have no control over the degrees per second a mount takes to slew before timing out during the PA slew. The ASIAIR Dev team could allow users to set the time limit for the PA 60 degree rotation which would resolve this issue on other mounts. But the fact of the matter is, if using an ASIAIR you will probably never use MOVE on the HC anyway so setting it at a higher speed once for automating PA is a good solution for ASIAIR users. With the change in Gemini 2 L6 that adds rapid changes to the MOVE speed value it's not an issue just something that ASIAR users need to be aware of.??
