Meridian flip failure and mount limits

Hello,

I'm testing the version of January 31.
This is my first test on the sky.
I do a cold starting.
I goto to Dubhe Alpha Ursa Major which is at the east. The goto is pretty good,
the star is at 0.5¡ã.
I center the star and I do an initial alignment.
Then I goto Capella Alpha Auriga which is at the west.
The goto starts but the system stops the mount before reaching my target.

In the mount limits, I've set the following values (I use the spacer from
Ovision):
eastern position: 95¡ã
western position: 115¡ã
western goto limit: 2:30

What's wrong ?
Thanks.

Marc

I have no clue as to how Gemini II works, but the first star in the version 1 you did a "Synchronize" instead of initial alignment or additional alignment. This may explain why the next stars aren't where they should be.

Rene has not finished the star alignment part yet. At the present time you can only do a synchronize of the first star, and a Initial Alignment on the second.
He is really busy working on finishing up the alignment process, and saving of models. He just finished do the DHCP, and fixing the way some of the Catalogs showed up, and were handled. The firmware that was upload on 5 and 5 Feb 2011 has changes, bug fixes for handling catalogs. He also provided a screen lock on the HC so that if you are using the hard buttons, you can lock the graphics screen to prevent making changes by accident.

Sounds good. I was pleasantly surprised to learn of the tactile movement buttons on the backside of the hand control. Makes for an easy familiarization to old Gemini I users and the keeps the ability to move the mount while not looking at the hand paddle for instance when centering through an eyepiece. I also appreciate the ability to lock out the graphics screen to eliminate accidental graphic button pushes.
