Retrofit kit spur gears

Hi group,
Recently I received a Gemini 2 retrofit kit for my HGM200 mount.
On examining the contents I find that I am missing two crucial spur
gears, one for the RA gearbox and one for the Dec. gearbox.
I am waiting to hear back from Losmandy in regards to this, but in
the meantime I was wondering how other Titan mount owners or
HGM owners fared. Were those spur gears included in your kit, and
if not, is it the norm to remove the spur gear from the Gemini 1 gearbox
and install it onto the gearbox of the Gemini 2.
I don't really want to start pulling the Gemini 1 apart as it's been a stellar
performer, and still is ( parden the pun ).?
I couldn't see these spur gears listed on the Losmandy Accessories page
either.
Any thoughts please.
Thanking you
George.?

I spoke to George about this that Losmandy would have some but did say if the gears pitch, TPI, PA and material can be identified by an another owner ¡.that maybe he can get one from these . ??

Hi George,
?
As far as I know, Losmandy uses the same spur gear in all their mounts, with the Titan having 3 and the G11 and others having two. They don't list every single part on their website, and this is one of those. To get that one, you need to fill out the special replacement form so Tanya can go into the shop and ask Mr. Losmandy to pull one off the shelf. This can take a number of weeks and then the time shipping to you in AU. I looked for a replacement several years ago and I think the one in the attached pdf was close enough, with 1.5 inch PD. If you can find a local supplier, you need to make sure the pitch angle is the same as Losmandy's which is 20 PA, if I am remembering right. But if you don't have the same PA, you can have the same hub, shaft hole, gear diameter and teeth count, but the wrong PA will not mesh correctly with the Losmandy original. Another option may be to order all new gears from your local supplier to make sure they are all the same PA. But be careful when removing these gears as the set screw is easily stripped and rounded out inside unless you have the correct 1/20 inch. precision hex tool, not just a random Allen wrench. Once the hex socket is stripped your only option is to drill out the screw which rarely works.
?
Good luck,
?
John

Hi John,
Thanks for the detailed reply.
Tanya doesn't know much about these particular spur gears, and
Scott is currently on holidays for another two weeks.
It gives me hope that they may have the parts, even though they
are not listed?on the?spares web site.
The dealer who I went through for this is on the case, and
will report back to me when Scott returns.
I know that the specs. for the gears need to be spot on, so I'll just
wait and see what Scott comes up with, as he may be able to supply
me with the specifications that I need...fingers crossed.
Thanks to all who chimed in on this, especially Brendan in the good
old land of Oz.
Cheers and all the best to all.
George?
