Sounds like a timeout when communicating with Gemini over the serial port. What are you trying to do, and what changes to your configuration may have caused it?
?

Good evening Paul,
I have been using the configuration for years: G11T mount ¨C Prism v11 acquisition software ¨C ascom platform ¨C ascom gemini driver ¨C Windows 11.
For 15 days, for an unknown reason, I can no longer point an astro target with the Prism card.
The mount works with the virtual handheld but no longer by requesting a pointing. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and nothing has changed. There is always the same error message.
I am in remote.
Thank you
Jean-Bernard

Jean-Bernard,

Have you tried a different USB cable?

Paul

Hi,

Thanks Paul for your answers.

To answer your suggestions and to complete my information:

The error notified appears when I want to point my telescope at a target with the Prism software mapping while the telescope moves correctly with the software's hand controller or that of the Gemini.

So I don't think it's a problem with the USB cable, converter, or port?

I don't know where to turn anymore.

I also uninstalled the ascom platform as well as the ascom gemini and reinstalled them.

Best regards.

Jean-Bernard.

Message translates to ¡°serial port timeout¡±

sorry, specifically detection timeout

Hi Edward,
Yes, I only get this error notification, then the telescope disconnects and then reconnects without my intervention.

Has very similar issue with my G11G Gemini 2. Tried a lot of different fixes. 5 different usb cables. 2 different ais air pluses. Same disconnects and glitches when activating the mounts servos?
from controllers. No issues when using HC.

Finally replaced the usb "B" port on the Gemini circuit board. Fortunately, I have the proper equipment to do this correctly. Now it's back to tracking, with guiding averaging .67 or better.
?
YMMV...

If you're going to go to the trouble of replacing components on the PCB, I'd recommend trying to switch to the Ethernet port, instead.?
