The MAC address should be different for two devices on the same network. UDP relies on it to deliver datagrams. Heres how to change the MAC address:

Chuck, if I understand correctly, you have both Gemini connected via ethernet cable to their own mini computers. Did you change the MAC address of at least one of the Gemini units? With both units

An alternative is to use a straight USB cable from PC to Gemini connected to the USB B (device) input on Gemini. With modern versions of Windows (10 or 11), this will automatically install a driver

Linksys routers use 12v 5.1x2.1 connections. They're about the same price as the GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 but they have more ports and can be used as an AP, or an extender/repeater etc...
