Re: Constant Beep?
Looks like something may have burned, the board looks pitted near the L6205 bridge driver.? Maybe I'm wrong and a bit of cleaning will show it is not damaged.? But that's a dual bridge power chip so

Re: Constant Beep?
Hi David, That sure doesn't look good :( If you are willing to try, use a q-tip dipped in Isopropyl alcohol (the 99% kind) and gently try to remove the gunk and oxidation where it's visible. Follow up

Re: Constant Beep?
I have my G11G in a backyard observatory year round. During the winter months (when below 32F anyway) I always bring the electronics inside...was afraid from the get go of that happening to me. Good

Re: Constant Beep?
Yeah, I have an email in to Losmandy - I might make the call soon if I don't hear back in a bit. This is a pretty much a new mount (last Nov) with not that many nights of activity yet. I had peaked

Re: Constant Beep?
Wow, what a mess. Hard to say if just moisture did that or there was some corrosion building up over time and the moisture on top of that did it in. Looks like it's time to call Losmandy and see if

Constant Beep?
Had my rig out last night and frost stuck to just about everything. I was waiting for the melt and evaporation this morning as it warmed back up before covering. My Gemini 2 is now holding a constant

Re: Another G11G/Gemini2 L6 question for a PHD2 dummy
Darryl, I finally had a clear night to experiment more with the G11G L6 and PHD2. This is again the C11 kit which runs with 43# of counterweights and no PEC training. I've not spent much time delving

Re: Gemini will point in the complete wrong direction
I can do multi directional slewing with the manual buttons, but the touch screen works best for me with a screen stylist pen thing. (Touch screens don't like my finners.) But when slewing, my Gemini2

Re: Very cold weather tracking problem
It's more complicated than does it work when very cold or hot.? While an antiseize paste like MP-50 can reduce the chances of metal parts seizing under pressure better than a general purpose

Re: Very cold weather tracking problem
FWIW, MI-250 mounts (I have one) use the MP-50 lubricant.? Works great in all temps. ?Doesn't separate, harden or anything like that. In the almost 20 years I have had this mount, I regreased it

Chip: Thank you, for the feedback. I appreciate your thoughts and agree about the lubricants. Losmandy does not advertise the Lubricant Kit so I emailed Tanya - hopefully they still carry it. My

Only the very cheap, poor excuse for grease known as white lithium grease is really susceptible to breaking down and drying out and turning into the nasty hard powder that gums up precision machinery.

Bob, if you are going to re-grease the mount, I suggest you use the Losmandy's recommended low-temperature grease: /g/Losmandy_users/message/81238 You can also get the full kit for
