Hi all, My Reverse RA & DEC options are enabled, causing my mount to slew to the opposite side of the pier than my target. Ive tried to reset the HGM parameters and then re-setup the Gemini II with

Re: I don't understand why Losmandy disabled the port for the axis encoders
I certainly agree that for imaging GOTO is the only way to fly. But if you get out to a dark sky site guided PUSH-TO involves the observer in the process of acquisition and observation.? It's a

Re: Hand controller
Hi Les, Sometimes the SD card in the hand controller is loose and making intermittent contact. Reseating and securing it in place can help in that case.

Re: I don't understand why Losmandy disabled the port for the axis encoders
I've moved on from push-to operation to fully automated Goto in the late 90's. With light pollution getting worse, clear nights getting fewer, and my desire to get as much imaging done while sleeping

Re: I don't understand why Losmandy disabled the port for the axis encoders
The reason the support for the encoders was dropped is nobody used encoders with the Gemini.? The Gemini only allowed the use of relatively low resolution encoders, 10K max. too low to be truly

Re: I don't understand why Losmandy disabled the port for the axis encoders
The code for the Gemini-2 was a complete re-write for a new platform. As I said,I believe it was a business decision not to write code to support encoders attached to Port ¡°E¡±, because the number

I don't understand why Losmandy disabled the port for the axis encoders
I don't understand why Losmandy disabled the port for the axis encoders on the Gemini II. It was present on the Gemini I, so Losmandy wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel. The reason: There would be so

Re: Push-to to get Alt Az coordinates
If you use NINA, there¡¯s a plug-in that does just that. You slew the scope to the different obstructions and NINA will know what to do with the info, in essence creating a ¡°virtual horizon¡± for

Re: Push-to to get Alt Az coordinates
If Theodelite depends on the phone's sensors, I doubt it would work very well. My phone, when set for true north, is at least 15 degrees off. (And where I live, in Virginia, has about a 10 degree

Not sure about accuracy for gaps in folliage, but I use Theodelite for mapping treelines. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/theodolite/id339393884 I don't see an Android version. Dave
