I haven’t tried to use the serial port on the G2 I have so it’s possible that it’s broken as the G2 wasn’t new when Tanya sent it to me for developing the Servo firmware.

?

Here’s what I had with my G1? (with serial port modified to supply 5V on pin 1)

?

?????????????? Bluetooth??????????? G1

Which I am pretty sure is correct (please tell me if I’ve got it wrong – it would be easy to do).

I’ve checked the cable for continuity

?

Baud rate is set to 9600 in Gemini.net and the lead is plugged into the Serial/GPS port on the G2.

The web pages tell me that is also set to 9600 (unlike the HC port which is set to 57600).

?

Gemini.net says connected, and then times out and gives up after a couple of attempts.

?

Have goofed this up or?

Yes, I did restart – several times in fact as I’m trying to get serial coms working (but that’s for another thread).

Did you restart Gemini after the new HC firmware was uploaded to the HC? I had a similar experience, and it all cleared up after restarting Gemini.

The 6.05 and 1.63c betas seem to work fine using normal hand control operations for visual and with ASIAIR Plus v3.?

I just heard back from GL.iNet tech support and the Slate-AX is not 12v tolerant.? So as expected you need to use a 5v power source.?

G2 NINA and Meridian Flip

I have L5 hardware and was wondering for southern Hemisphere are there any special requirements in the set up of the mount or while using NINA for it to perform a meridian flip, thanks

Re: periodic error training (PemPro config question)

Hi Steve,

Brian isn't visiting here very often anymore, so let me attempt to give you an answer.
?
> One, after uploading to the mount and verifying the curves and riding off into the sunset, do we go back into Gemini PEC configuration and set the worm period back to 1x?
?
No, don't change the worm setting. You don't need to do 2x worm cycle recording/programming. You can do 1x worm cycle, as well. 2x takes longer and will only help in the specific case that you have a certain error that can't be fixed by 1x worm cycle PEC. But either way should work.
?
>? Two, on the PemPro site ? (updated 2023) there's no mention of this. Is there a conflict here, is your doc still relevant with this idea, etc.?
?
PemPro has been updated since 2023. Early 2024, a version with some changes and bug fixes was released specifically to address the Gemini PEC programming with L6.02 and above. Just download the latest version of PEMPro available.
?
> And unrelated to those: On the site's document it asks to "go into the "Advanced Setup" page and uncheck "Gemini expects J2000 co-ordinates" because they both need to be on the JNow page--is that also required from your perspective?
?
It's not required, but it is recommended. You don't need J2000 conversion unless you have certain software that only supports that epoch. To program PEC you don't need J2000 precession conversion.

I have a tech support question in GL.iNet regarding the Slate-AX USB C port's 12v tolerance.? Many of these ports are independently regulated at the input and can tolerate some higher voltages at the input.? ?

I use one of the GL.iNet routers with the USB C connection for DC power from my PegausAstro PowerPocket Advanced. If you can solder, it's pretty easy to take a barrel pigtail and USB C power pigtail (; note the correct polarity) and solder them together using a lineman's splice. Cover up each splice with heat shrink and, voila, you have an adapter cable; otherwise, get butt connectors and splice them that way. I just prefer soldered connections.

The question is are you using the adjustable power output of the PAPPA or a regular 12v output?? ?

I just saw a new that’s rated for outdoor use and is supposed to have a very generous coverage. Maybe this is what you’re looking for??

let me warn you beforehand though, it is most certainly not inexpensive by any definition of the word lol
