Then I'd suggest you continue to ask for help here, but please don't complain if you're not getting an immediate answer -- it is not a requirement for anyone here to answer your questions. It's impolite, and specifically against the group policy. I and others have been more than willing to help you, spending time over the weekend to answer your questions. Again, if you have complaints, regrets, or need an immediate answer -- contact Losmandy. This group is not for official support, and it says so right on the home page:

This users group is here to help you, we want your questions and answers. Now if you have constructive criticism or suggested improvements of the Gemini-2, then please post it. This users group only works if we all do our part. But please no bashing, just for bashing sake. Remember, the Gemini-2 is still under development. Most of us have invested our hard earned money, and and more importantly, many hours, and are proud of our investment. This users group is not run by Losmandy, but by Gemini-2 owners just like you. Lets make it the best!

Peter,

The HC has an "Adaptive Color" option that you find under MENU->HC->Display. If this is checked it overrides the color settings for Daytime/Dawn/Nighttime Mode by selecting the mode that is appropriate, based on your location, date and time. As long as these values are not set correctly it may look strange, but once all is set, it is nice. If you don't like it just uncheck the checkbox.

In L6 there is an additional precaution. If you wake up after a night of observing, having used Nighttime Mode and having dimmed the display it is brightened up that you can read the display although the Sun is in the sky now. If you can't read it anyway, you can use Gemini.net to adapt the screen brightness.

Hi Rene
? ?I am not sure this is working correctly; my display was green all last night. I just powered cycled and the screen is now blue. I am at Eastern Standard Time.

Thanks for your help

Pete, this forum is for Gemini-2 users and is owned and run by other Gemini-2 users. This is not an official Losmandy support forum. While Brian participates here and tries to help, he¡¯s just another forum user. Everyone else here is just like you ¡ª owners and owner want to be.

If you require official Losmandy support, please open a ticket with Losmandy directly at their support email.

Apparently, the Spring was too tight. I had seen that "RA Stall!" before with Level 5 but the mount would still function. Is there something in Level 6 that acts as a safeguard when the spring is too tight?

Re: Is this an appropriate PICKIT2 Programmer?

It¡¯s a knock off clone not the real thing. ?But I have a fleabay knockoff PicKit 3 that does everything it should. ? I¡¯ve don¡¯t quite a few dipic33s with it.?

In many regards many liked the PicKit 2 better. ?

But fleabay clones are a mixed Lolly bag. ? Some are sweet some sour. ? Look for feedback and how many purchased as an indication. ?You Also need a 2.54mm to 2mm pitch male end cable.?

Is this an appropriate PICKIT2 Programmer?

I ask because it's like 1/10th of the price.

Even the most expensive versions I can source locally are only about 60% of what Losmandy are asking.
Am I crazy, or are the Losmandy prices kinda $$$?

Thanks Brian! I'll try the 4x-mode under sky conditions the next days.

Re: PICKIT 2 ok?

I should say 'yes, provided it works with your software, so it's recognized'

Sounds like you confirmed that

Re: L6 update mail back

Is there any need to keep it for the future?

Re: Erratic Beeping

Yes, I was near the limits, but the spring was too tight, and has been for a while because I have seen the "RA Stall!" before I upgraded to L6. No light or heat. Apparently when there is an "RA Stall!", you cannot move that axis, as I could move the Dec axis. It seems the other buttons may be inactive also as to get your attention. I imagine this is new to L6, because like I said, when I had "RA Stall!" in L5 I could still move the RA axis. I was asking about the erratic beeping, it is very obvious as it sounds like something failing, but it seems to be the warning that limit is about to be reached. can you confirm my assumptions?

Re: Gemini ASCOM Driver and NINA Settings when I change equipment

Well, this is all very helpful - and clarifying. The interplay btw software, mounts, OTAs and photography equipment is complex, especially for those of us who are relatively new to this hobby - and who might image once or twice a month. ?Plenty of room to get confused. ?

I don¡¯t use an OAG, and generally wouldn¡¯t think of a mid session addition of a reducer. ?I was trying to understand the relationship btw NINA and the Gemini driver. I will adjust them both to match equipment in my setup moving forward. ?Easy enough to do.

thanks, all.

Geoff

Re: Erratic Beeping

The spring loaded worm must be too tight. I am going to adjust it.

Re: Erratic Beeping

I"m getting a little confused here Peter. Are you anywhere near the limits?

This just sounds like an RA stall.?

>>>I am now trying to get it to CWD but the HC is unresponsive, it is stuck on the screen in the picture I posted.

Are you exposing it to light/heat for extended periods of time?

trying unplugging and then re-plugging in the HC
