The voltage can differ when the battery is measured stand-alone, and in-circuit, inserted into Gemini.

Since you have one of the older Gemini models, you may need to replace the battery and then set the date/time immediately after doing so to avoid the battery being discharged too rapidly. This is not an issue with newer Gemini-2's, but was a problem with earlier models.

(first warning on that page):
After replacing the battery, power on the Gemini-2 and set the time and date. Failure to do so could cause the processor to draw too much power from the battery and might result in processor damage.? You can also save all your settings using the Web interface Firmware/SRAM page "Store SRAM" content to file before removing the battery, and then "Load SRAM" content from file (to restore all the setting back to what they were before changing the battery), after you replace the battery..? This will not set the date and time, you still must do this!.

Have you tried doing an HGM reset then pulling out the battery and letting it sit 10 minutes before powering it up and then installing the battery with the Gemini 2 still powered up???

thanks, slow internet would explain it; my VPN was delivering <5mb/s at the time (usually get ~100mb/s).? It is good to know for the future that GFU should automatically pick up the latest versions!

Polaris is not exactly at the North pole (i.e., not at the CWD position) but close. What's more, the pole itself is a mathematical singularity: the RA coordinate of the pole is undefined. Stay well clear of the pole or Polaris when doing syncs or aligns because of it.

Thank you all for your past help, I¡¯m all upgraded with ver 6 and servo driver 3. I have my date, time, time zone, Lat/Lon all set correctly. I noticed that when I do a cold start in CWD pointing north with my mount angle set to the proper angle, then tell it to go to Polaris, the servos kick in and move the mount, I¡¯d assume that it shouldn¡¯t move, that it should assume that it¡¯s alreadypointing at Polaris upon cold start, am I incorrect? I then manually pointed and then pressed synchronize on Polaris, then I told it to GOTO Jupiter, after mount movement the upward angle looked roughly correct but it was pointing about 180 degrees in the wrong direction. The two checkboxes simply enable meridian flip point functionality or turn it off for each side of the mount. When it's off, Gemini behaves just like it did prior to L6.

Flip points are similar to the old Western Goto Limit. They attempt to enforce a flip when a Goto is commanded to a position past the flip point.
?
The differences between WGL and flip points are:
1. Flip points are set relative to the meridian, not safety limit
2. Flip points can be defined on both sides of the mount, East and West
3. Flip points are meant for imagers: a Goto to a coordinate past the flip point will enforce a meridian flip on either side of the mount, as long as that position is reachable from the other side after the flip.

The Western Goto Limit was defined relative to the safety limit, and Gemini could decide not do a meridian flip in some cases, if the destination was close enough to the current position and prior to the safety limit. This was designed to help visual observers. Flip points are designed primarily for automated imaging.

It¡¯s available for use, but the trick is figuring out the time difference between Gemini oscillator and 12MHz so that the clock rate adjustment can be made. That part is still being researched and tested. The effect of the clock difference is a relatively minor speed drift vs. Sidereal (or other rates).

The first version of GEMPro is a cut-down version of PEMPro that I finished months ago. I was planning to build it from scratch, but it was much easier and very much quicker to remove support from PEMPro for other mounts and call it GEMPro.
So now, I am waiting for a firmware update from Rene that allows non-sidereal PEC so that I can test PEC with firmware at non-sidereal rates (e.g. tracking an asteroid, comet, or satellite).
Rene, any progress on this firmware update?

During the asiair calibration, it indicates that it is clearing backlash.? But, i don't know.? It looks like I will need to check the new RA extension and see if the factory bolts are loose.

The GFU app pulls the latest available firmware versions from the web by accessing gemini-2.com website. If your internet is disconnected or very slow, it's possible that the firmware versions listed will be older ones, those that were available when that GFU version was first created.?

Please check the version you're installing before pressing start when using GFU.

I am not an expert, so take this with a massive grain of salt...looking at the graph you have very high aggression settings, but the mount is apparently not responding to corrections as the numbers drift further and further away from the middle. you can also see this in how the RA difference gets bigger and bigger. First thing I would do is turn on the option to see the pulse commands sent by the guiding software. Then, I would be looking at backlash in the worm gears - maybe your spring load mechanisms need to be adjusted (if your mount has them). I recently adjusted mine and it made a huge difference in guiding performance. ASIAir uses a stripped-down version PHD2 and there are no adjustments available for backlash compensation, so I'm not even sure if it has any compensation it uses. Like I said, I'm not an expert, so I would look for more advice here and elsewhere before messing with your mount mechanics. :)

Pretty sure I already know the answer to this one
I recently added an RA extension and 12" pier extension to my g11 mount.? I wanted to improve functionality around the meridian and these upgrades did exactly that by reducing the time I need to wait to execute a flip.? As usual a new problem became apparent...
My rig generally shows guiding accuracy of 0.5 seconds or less.? After the two upgrades it will be going along fine then all at once guiding turns to garbage.? I attached a screen shot as an example.? My first thought is something is loose in/on one of the extensions but I did take care to tighten the set screws with considerable effort.? Before I pull the scope off and check everything, I thought I would ask the group if there were any other ideas.? Several of the screws on the RA extension were installed at the factory and the ones I checked felt tight.??
Any ideas, including the obvious one, are are appreciated.
