High Voltage Zener Reregulator

hi,
any diagram or instructions where the reregulator actually wires into the main board? Or more specifically, where would you attach in say a LENi???

If I get the jist of it,? the red wire is 900 volts in to the module, say split the 900V coming out the probe out on a LENI board.? Then orange wire provides 440V out.? Could go to a separate BNC connector?? Run it to a switch, and switch back and forth between 900V and 440V???
the wire loop..? ground -? just hook to board ground somewhere?????

thanks

Hi MTC. This one is designed to go from the regular probe jack (RED WIRE= 900 V input) to a different jack for the 440V probe (ORANGE WIRE) yes the loop goes to ground (same ground for both connectors).

It can be wired in the same housing as the main probe by using 2 BNC connectors, but don't try to hook up both probes at once- or it can be mounted in a box by itself with input and output connectors, or it can be wired into the probe housing itself (as in the GEO-310/ Pikes Peak Prospector).

Ask if questions. I don't recommend switches in the HV line, can lead to real problems. FOR YOUR FUTURE CONVERSIONS- I HAVE A SPECIAL MAIN HV ZENR STRING THAT ALLOWS 2 DIFFERENT HV'S TO BE SWITCH SELECTED- THESE ARE USUALLY 900 AND 440 OR 470 BUT CAN ALSO BE 700. NOT ADVERTISED YET, SPECIAL ORDER ITEM RIGHT NOW.

George?

Unknown pricing at this time, that one uses many Zeners and each one has to be hand selected and measured and?the? PCB is larger to.. But not a fortune for sure,

When using this scheme I suggest controlling it using Dr. Prutchi's idea of a DPDT switch, using the extra set of contacts to light an alerting LED to remind you the HV is set to HI. You could also wire it to 2 LEDs of different color (RED/YELLOW) to indicate the? ?HIGH HV/ LOW? HV setting.?

There is also a LENi conversion mod I designed that allows knob control of the HV over a range of 200-1000V- Used on ENi only but might be adapted to others, I never tried.

Ok I think I understand.? There is some flexibility with it.?

?

That switchable HV sounds really cool.?? How much are asking for it?

Thanks
