I lived in Banks County until 1958 when I went to UGA as a student. I attended Banks County High. I was in the first class to attend the "new" school on the hill across from the Garrison homes. I remember there was a school located south of Homer called Davis Academy. It closed around 1955. Does anyone have any pictures or information on this school?

I’ve recovered an old photograph of Donald SELLERS of 720 Chain Street, Norristown, PA which was taken when he was 7 weeks old and weighed 17lbs. The photograph was taken by the Walter Gillam Studio in Norristown, PA. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Donald and his family: Donald Laird SELLERS was b. 22 May 1910 in Norristown, PA to parents David Norman SELLERS (b. 1873) and Mary Maude “Maud” MCMEEN or MACMEEN or MOORE. Donald was one of four children born to this couple including, Rosco C.; Marguerite A.; Dorothy Clara; and Donald Laird SELLERS all born between 1894 and 1910. Donald’s birth certificate indicates that both parents were 37 years old at the time of his birth and that this was Maud’s 4th child and David’s 6th child. David’s occupation is noted as Melter on the birth certificate and Maud is a Homemaker. Donald married twice, first to Myra Cathcart KELLEY (1911-2001) on 18 May 1935 in St. Catharines, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada and second to Anna Sagert or Davis PARKMAN (1918-2000) in 1941 in Newburyport, MA and they had five children including a daughter and four sons. Donald was living in New Smyrna Beach, FL in 1996. Donald died 25 or 26 Mar 2000 in Alto or Gainesville, GA. Census records provide the following family information: 1920 census of Dunkirk, NY: David N. SELLERS, age 46, born PA, parents born PA, Electric Molten at Steel Works Maud SELLERS, wife, age 46, born PA, parents born PA Dorothy SELLERS, dau, age 20, born PA, a Steel Works Stenographer Donald SELLERS, son, age 9, born PA 1925 census of Dunkirk, NY: David N. SELLERS, age 52 W. R.
