install a ircddbgateway from scratch

Hello everyone,?

I'm trying to setup a little PC(intel NUC)? to replace?of the original Icom G3 Software.?
I have search on the web but I can't find a step by step. I seams everyone is adopting the Pistar.
I have found a outdated document with old URLs.?
I would like to have a setup that allow the users to go the others reflectors (XLX, DCS, XRF) beside the REF.
Those anyone have a document or could point me in the right direction?

Best regards

Jose Alves

Jose,

?

I think you have already decided not to use a Pi and the Pi-Star image to provide a D-Star gateway that supports multiple reflector protocols like DExtra, DCS, etc. as well as DPlus.?

?

Just a note – we are running a Pi 3B and Pi-Star for our club repeater and have had no problems.? In our case, we chose to enable Multi-Mode, but the Pi-Star image also allows configuration of the original G4KLX software (DStarRepeater and ircDDBGateway).? What is nice about the Pi-Star image is the ease of remotely managing the repeater.

?

But your plan to run the intel pc will also work, though you will have more setup work manually compiling the G4KLX source.?

?

In any case, good luck with your project.

Hi Jim,?
I like to have multiple options over the table, since my goal is to help to increase?the D-star network. I don't care if "you" are a REF or XLX defender, so all the options are an option.?
I have tested it with a raspberry pi,it is easy to deploy and manage, the only problems with pi's is the lack of them on the market and the price. So I'm trying to reuse?discomissied NUC PC to do the job.

Yes, the availability of Pi’s continues to be a problem. I see Amazon is selling a 3B+ for $69, basically double the intended sales price.

And if you thought you might someday want to configure for more than one DV mode, while the 3B+ has plenty of horsepower for D-Star, DMR, C4FM, NXDN etc, the new open source mode M17 requires a faster CPU, like the Pi 4. Amazon is selling a 4B 2019 2GB Pi for $75.

I would have thought these supply chain problems that started when Covid-19 took off would have been solved by mid-2023, but apparently not.

Since your goal is D-Star, you have a lot of choices. Good luck.
