Has anyone tried one of these? New microphone.

Available on eBay for around 47 dollars shipped from China.? Interested in perking up the audio on SSB as it is a little dull. One thing I do worry about is this is a dynamic microphone and the original microphone is an electret. If the manufacturer did not include a dc blocking capacitor it could ruin the dynamic element in short order or damage the radio itself.

Hi Randy

Nice! I purchased a similar 'tactical' handset as a -still ongoing mini- project. The G106 is one of a few HF-radio's that support a speaker? & mic via the front connector (?). So it should work easily.

I rewired the handheld as in the schematic I draw (incl PTT). See the images below.? You can be creative and add a compressor module in the handset. Still have to test it though... In theory it should work!

BTW: in the schematic 'geel' means Yellow, 'zwart' means Black, 'wit'means White and 'rood' means Red. ;-)

kind regards
Robert
