Obviously he went down the rabbit hole and seems to have never come out. Some people are highly susceptible to suggestion. In Uncle's case, it's probably a chronic condition, considering his history in cults. Suggestibility is being inclined to accept and act on the suggestions of others. It's a close cousin to hypnosis and sometimes becomes outright brainwashing which in some cults can lead to mind control by unscrupulous leaders. YMMV.
