Apparently the late B.D. Triguna, Balaraj Maharishi, V.M. Dwivedi, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Debu Chaudhuri, and Shivkumar Sharma, among others must have been very impressed with Maharishi's programs in India. Apparently all these pundits were famous all over India. YMMV.

This it it, this is the one. IMHO.

Rock the kasbah with this Arabic Putumayo collection of contemporary music from North Africa and the Middle East. An exotic, evocative fusion of Euro-trance style music and eastern rhythm and instruments. Traditional Arabic instruments such as the flute and oud blend with guitar, bass, and drums, laying down plenty of fun, and full-on body-shaking rhythms.

Arabic Groove
Putumayo World Music
ASIN : B00005J6WU?

"The disc is heavy on Algerian rai and Egyptian al-jil, with more than half the artists represented from either Egypt or Algeria. The most recognizable name here is Natacha Atlas, whose orgasmic singing on "Kidda," remixed by Transglobal Underground, stands out over the others."

They won a Grammy Award in 1999 in the Best Polka Album category for their album Polkasonic, and again in 2004 for their album Let's Kiss.

Brave Combo and Sarah Hickman in Dallas, Texas

"In naming Denton, Texas, the "Best Music Scene" for 2008, Paste magazine cited Brave Combo as the "Grand Pooh-Bah of Denton bands" and said that "Brave Combo, is in many ways the template from which all the rest are cut: eclectic and artistically ambitious, with a high degree of musicianship and a strong DIY ethic."
