YES!!!!? ? ? CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!!? ? ? ?BLACK VOTES MATTER!!!!!? ? ? FINALLY!!!!? ? ? THANK GOODNESS!!!!?? Jeff Flake writes a good op-ed.? He provides his opinion on WTF these anti-democracy GOP malicious nincompoops are doing and why.??
"It is hard to comprehend how so many of my fellow Republicans were able — and are still able — to engage in the fantasy that they had not abruptly abandoned the principles they claimed to believe in. It is also difficult to understand how this betrayal could be driven by deference to the unprincipled, incoherent and blatantly self-interested politics of Donald Trump, defined as it is by its chaos and boundless dishonesty. The conclusion that I have come to is that they did it for the basest of reasons — sheer survival and rank opportunism.
But survival divorced from principle makes a politician unable to defend the institutions of American liberty when they come under threat by enemies foreign and domestic. And keeping your head down in capitulation to a rogue president makes you little more than furniture. One wonders if that is what my fellow Republicans had in mind when they first sought public office."

What?? As compared to your guys, the upstanding ones?? The upstanding patriots engaging in domestic terrorism in the party of family values?? Maybe step outside and put on your MAGA hat to show solidarity.??An inside job!! Assisted by no other than the president!!? Trump embedded his people; he's been threatening this.? Yep, the GOP coddled this mentally ill dictator wannabe for four years.? Never set limits on a toddler and you'll raise a tyrant.? And, the president spent over an hour setting them up, won't tell them to stand down and now Pence will pardon him.?? ? --

With 40% of the country thinking the election was stolen, this was to be expected — especially after the unified voice of the media saying for years that if you feel disenfranchised it’s okay to riot. YMMV.

Yep. I was watching the sedition caucus pretend they give a shit about "the American people who have a right to see the non-existent evidence."? Guess Trump was mad at Pence for refusing to orchestrate the coup.?? That was way too easy.? If they'd brought automatic weapons, they would have taken the capitol. One guy said "we'll be back and next time we'll bring weapons."? It's hard to believe that the capitol police weren't prepared.? They need to arrest Trump and throw him in jail and charge him.? Right now.? Because otherwise, he's not done.?? ? --

I think it’s hilarious how both Trump and Rudy were doing a great job...before the takeover... of somehow making this all Pence’s doing. ?Serves him right for being such a toady.
Oh well, he’s President for the next two weeks, at least unofficially. ?But I’ll bet anything Trump will be gone by tomorrow evening.?

He'll fly off to Brazil?? There still aren't enough Senators with a moral compass to vote him out under impeachment or the 25th.? He needs to be arrested and thrown in a padded cell until his day in court.? God help us if he starts a war on Iran or worse. You think Pence will still pardon him?? ? --

I don't think Pence would pardon him at this point. These politicians were shitting their pants yesterday. They finally "got it". Supporting trump has always been a losing proposition. There will come a time when he will finally ask the impossible and the toady will fail to satisfy him and ultimately trump will turn on them and everyone else. There is no winning with him. Anyone who tries to keep him happy are on a fool's errand. Watching L. Graham last night in his speech was nauseating. Actually, the events of yesterday were a supreme gift to all of us with a modicum of sanity. The end of trump is like a fucking fairytale and, to boot, we won both Senatorial seats in Georgia. What's not to like? I am personally going to thoroughly enjoy watching the trump clan squirm and squeal over the next few days. This has been a verrrrrrry long time coming.

Are you being facetious or did you hear tRump's speech?? It appears the Capitol Police were "astonished" and "didn't expect" it.? Really??? How come most of America expected it???? To put the entire Congress at risk like that is unbelievable.? Check out how the the Defense Department, under tRump's loyalist, assisted tRump and Guiliani's (at a minimum) plan.? I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz knew what was going to go down.? Josh was giving them the tRump Party salute.? ----------------------------------------------- Department of Defense initially denied additional DC National Guard troops to be deployed to the Capitol
