These show the reality, imo.? I'm beginning to seriously consider starting the conversation with my family about immigrating in the next 10 years if the US doesn't change course.? Maybe the pandemic will generate the kind of sea change needed, although the idea that thousands of lives would have to be lost to get people to wake up is depressing.? The Republicans are in power only because of the systemic corruption they are are trading on and continuing to see and breed for the future.? Mitch is actually the most dangerous person in the country.? ??

Wow - NY times creating fancy graphs on wealth and racial inequalities now that Bernie's not running anymore ?. We don't want you to emigrate Emily! ? On Fri, Apr 10, 2020 at 11:49 AM Emily Mae via <emily.mae50=[email protected]> wrote: On Fri, Apr 10, 2020 at 11:47 AM, Emily Mae wrote: |

Except for one tiny thing.? Catalonia tried to secede from Spain - no luck.? The Kurds wanted, and frankly deserve, an independent Kurdistan, but that won't likely happen in our lifetimes.? The Palestinians aren't faring too well either.? ?South Sudan succeeded, but look what that took.? |

There were numerous tribes that settled across the US.? They didn't think of themselves as nine nations; those boundaries based on geography were imposed on them by the white man, I do believe.?? |

Don't know yet.? Going to put together a list of criteria and put it on the list of projects to start researching.? I may have to convince one of my children to emigrate first; if I wait 10 years, I'll be pretty old.? I keep forgetting how old I am!? If I sell the house in the next 5 years, I would have enough to spend a good amount of time as a nomad, checking out different locales.? Who knows though, it's hard to plan for the future.??
Look at what the testing requirements were from FEMA.? Like we want tRump's government to be in charge of anything!? They were placed to take down government, not operate it.? They thrive on inefficiency and incompetence.?? The Federal Emergency Management Agency required photo identification, health insurance information, phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses for every patient tested, according to a letter the agency sent to the county that was obtained by The Washington Post. The agency also ordered county officials to ship the kits to labs with CDC contracts on the East Coast, which would yield results in as long as a week. - WaPo |

My suggestion for you, if you decide to move, would be to re-locate closer to the heartland get out of the city where your risk is higher; get out to the country in a smaller community, maybe is Eastern Washington. Take up gardening or small-scale farming. The key to survival will be not how much money you earn, but how much you can save for a rainy day or an emergency. Even a thousand dollars in savings can make a lot of difference in how you will fare in the future. People with less money are likelier to have chronic health conditions, and also to live near one another, making residents of many lower-income neighborhoods doubly vulnerable. YMMV. |

Washington, Oregon and California may break away from the union and form a new country. After the pandemic is eradicated there will be two Americas: those living in high-density cities where people must work in offices or stores or in service industries; and low density areas in rural America where more people work from home. The businesses that have so far been hit particularly hard are the ones premised on physical presence and face-to-face interactions, such as retail stores, transportation, restaurants and bars, and hotels where people live paycheck-paycheck.?The location of one’s housing has significant bearing on how one weathers a pandemic.
