My first Subaru (1978 5 speed wagon) only had front wheel drive but
it got me through blizzards and slick roads.? Subaru doesn't sell
front wheel drive vehicles in the US anymore, just AWD (all wheel
drive).? The 5 speed got great mileage and my 98 Forester not so
much because AWD has a weighty axle to carry.? Subaru does sell a
front wheel drive Impreza in Japan.
