After getting the shot you will be immune from the virus. YMMV.

According to the experts it doesn't.? It's a treatment not a vaccine.

Avoid the danger that lies ahead. Nobody is probably immune to the millions of variants spreading all 0ver the planet.

Just like any coronavius such as a cold. That's why they never developed a cold vaccine.
Right.? A "cold" is why hundreds of thousands of people have died in the US and millions now worldwide.? Oh, that's right, you think there is a worldwide conspiracy involving a cabal of undertakers burying fake bodies in mass gravesites in every country in the world.

Guffaw! Nonsense Emily, cabal of undertakers.? More likely a cabal of government and industry (known as fascism) who don't want to pay for old people on SS.? We can thank Bill Clinton for that since he robbed the SS funds to balance the budget.?

You don't know if you've got the COVID until you get tested.

With what?? A PCR test?? Those are unreliable.

Apparently I'm the only informant posting here that got the vaccine, the booster, and then got tested negative. Go figure.
I'm getting vaccinated tomorrow.? If you never hear from me again, assume the worst.??
I hope it goes well.? Please let us know.

The vaccine is not a a cure but a treatment anyway.
Everyone should get the shot in order in order to attain herd immunity. Otherwise you're going to spend the rest of your life in lockdown, to one degree or another. The higher the vaccine resistance, the longer the lockdown will last. YMMV.

More and more people are just saying no to the vaccine.? PROVE IT.? Oh right, you know this because the people on your message board in Contra Costa county say it is so.? In case you didn't know, ~52% of Contra Costa county residents are fully or partially vaccinated.? And...

"...a new Pew Research survey finds public intent to get vaccinated is on the rise.

Overall, 19% of adults say they have already received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine. Another 50% say they definitely or probably plan to get vaccinated. Taken together, 69% of the public intends to get a vaccine – or already has – up significantly from 60% who said they planned to get vaccinated in November."

Even Fauci said the other "if everyone gets the vaccine" acknowledging there may be a large number who will not.? He has said things like that from the start.? Legally they cannot force us to take the vaccine nor issue vaccine passports.? They do that and the guns come out.

A lot of people say they will get the vaccine just not when.? That's a good cover.? Reminds me of the cartoon where too rats are talking and one asks the other if they got the vaccine yet.? The other rat replies, "I'm waiting for the human testing to finish."
Chances are they are immune anyway.? Maybe that little sore throat they got last year was the covid virus but they killed it in a half an hour by gargling with mouthwash.? Friend who got the Pfizer vaccine had a reaction after the first shot and were told that meant they had covid some time in the past.?
Really? That would be incredibly irresponsible.? My guess is you or he heard wrong.? It's a possibility, not a definite.? Tell your friend to Google it.? Oh, he's probably on your message board too—echo chamber of Contra Costa County.? I was just down there.? Almost everyone I saw was wearing a mask.?

I didn't hear wrong, Emily.? That's what they wrote.? We have been friends for decades and we exchange emails.? They usually visit once a year traveling in a motorhome.? They couldn't last year but are expect to arrive here early May.

Which means they were probably already immune so didn't need the shot.
Nope.? Wrong again.?

Based on what?? Dr. Emily's imagination.? Don't know much about history nor biology... do you Karen. ;-)

There will be a lot of resistance to any vaccine based apartheid.? It's total nonsense.

One can tell within the first five minutes whether something is worth watching or not. Although I will read reviews of both critics and the general public I will watch something if I have a desire to, irrespective of the reviews. About 25% of the time I disagree with critics (professionals) so you just have to think for yourself and watch what intrigues you and turn it off if it falls flat. On the other side, many films that win Oscars and rave reviews I find utterly unwatchable.

Also the movie is actually a love story about the guy who is the courier trying to arrange for he and his girlfriend to leave Los Angeles for Big Sur.? Scifi fans don't like love stories mixed into their scifi.

The movie was better than I expected.? And I wanted to see if for the subtexts presented.? Was it going to be a message of "you must obey the authorities" or "fear authoritarianism".? Fortunately it was the latter.? And maybe why Hulu which usually promotes new movies does have it listed prominently.

Checking the post Corner posts I mentioned the film back in November.? Barry started a second thread about the film when it was released in December.? Anything that Barry trashes may be worth checking out.

Ok, so I watched the trailer. I have to say, this does not appeal to me. Not because the production values are lacking or the acting is lame but because I just don't feel like watching an apocalyptic movie about something that is not going to become apocalyptic in real life and right now I am totally "over" this kind of drama. The last 5 years have been nothing but insanity and drama and I can't see the desirability of watching more sturm und drang on the damn screen. It's just not where I want to place my attention right now. Just like I never watch cop or hospital shows. Just not what life is all about - for me. Violence, hate and ignorance is in abundance off the screen.
