? Hello friends, artists, and art collectors! Welcome to Spring! Since I last communicated, I have been artistically engaged with numerous projects.? SPRING JURIED SHOWINGS ? ?Artists in Middleburg, Spring in the Piedmont Exhibition April 8-May 7, 2023 102 W Washington Street 20117 Open Noon Wed-Sunday 540-687-6600 .? Flora Fauna a lovely framed piece in the show.? ¡°Flora Fauna¡±, shows hints of swirling flowers and mystical greens but never really claims any particular flowers or greens.? The show is available on their website. ? Art at the Mill ¨C 15 Tannery Lane, Millwood, Virginia 22646 ? Beginning 4/22 through 5/7 -Sunday through Friday 12-5 PM and 10 AM-5 PM on Saturdays.? The show is available on the Millwood webpage, with artists listed alphabetically since it is a very large show.? My two pieces in this show include: ¡°In the Cloud A¡± and ¡°It¡¯s Complicated,¡± both acrylic on wood.? I was seeing little square compartments dutifully filing into the IT cloud for Cloud and ¡°It¡¯s Complicated¡± represents numerous layers (15+) of figuring out what it wanted to be and finally made it home.? I think we have all been there. ? Falls Church Arts ¨C 700-B West Broad Street, Falls Church 22042 The show will be in two parts over two months.? Artists alphabet A-K 4/27-5/25 and Artist L-Z 5/27-6/25 Reception for artists L-Z reception will be 5/27 Hope to see you there! This is? an all-member show (not a juried show).? As many of you know, most of my work stems from memories, emotions or feelings current or past.? The work I have chosen for this show falls under the ¡°imaginative realism¡± category which is less common than most of my work of straight abstract.? The title, ¡°My Secret Garden¡± originates from my memories of my New Jersey childhood.? We lived on an acre of land my parents gardened to the fullest and it was adjacent to a vacant field.? This field was the source of many summer days of making secret paths through out as I always searched for small bugs and butterflies in my ¡°hidden¡± rooms of flattened tall grasses.? The sun in this work is in defiance of my first art instructor who told me I used (at age 6) too many ¡®suns¡¯ in my paintings which greatly dampened my desire to continue with art at that age. ??? Hi Laura, I am concerned the link didn't work, however they have not opened the show yet so the art is not available on line until the show actually opens.? The link is to the actual art in the show. One more thing....with a sheepish?grin I send you guys to my url for mywebsite in development ( but still out there before it is complete) so I am making progress slowly but surely.? <>. I just revised and will be sending my Artist Statement soon.? Not sure when it will get put up there but progress is progress!
