No power
Edward, Time to locate your schematic diagram. Find the point where power entres the radio, search for a fuse, it will most likely be noted as a 0 (zero) ohm resistor. Now you need to consider WHY the radio stopped working. Good luck with the repair. Don't be afraid to send it to a repair shop. 73 John VE7KKQ On Mon, Sep 9, 2024 at 9:01?AM Edward Soriano via <docward87=[email protected]> wrote: Hi, |

I? had the same thing happen to two of my ft radios.? Connecting and disconnecting a battery charger or battery maintainer can create an arc necessary to short out the surge suppressor that is across the power input line inside the unit. Replaced the suppressor and things worked as they should. 开云体育Hi Edward, ? Does the power relay briefly click on and straight back off again, because that’s what mine is doing? ? It’s on the bench at the moment but I haven’t had time to get back to looking into it yet. Too much else to do. ? 73….Eric VK2VE. ? Dear Ed. Did you check the original DC connector plug??I had some problems every now and then. I removed it and wired a Power Pole connector. After that I did not have a problem of Power off VU2TE Unni On Mon, Sep 9, 2024 at 8:31?PM Edward Soriano via <docward87=[email protected]> wrote: Hi, |

I had a similar issue in my mobile installation, even tried installing my second FT-857d in the vehicle, thought it may have been a power issue, finally tracked it down to a faulty crimp on the factory supplied RJ12 cable to the control head. Re-crimping fixed it. In my case the rig was in a power cycle loop and had to remove power to shut it down. |
I had the same thing happen to mine in the car. Replaced the modular cable from the head to body and it has worked fine since... (didnt?have the crimp tool to redo the ends...) 73 and good luck Art N3GCD On Wed, Sep 11, 2024 at 6:47?PM vk5ztj via <vk5ztj=[email protected]> wrote:

Hi Edward,? Hope you get back to this soon.? Exactly what my unit is doing. Definitely proved not power supply related.? The relay sounds like it is just not able to pull up and stay up. Slight flicker on display and fans.? It was intermittent for a while, would eventually power up when repeated trying, but no more just clicks,? wait for 30 seconds or so and repeat.
