After doing a full hard reset, I am missing several Hidden Menu items.? I am also unable to read or write from radio.? Has anyone else seen this problem and have a solution?

There is a menu item for Extended Menu.? Resetting the radio returns it to the default setting of Off. Find it and change it to On. Sorry I don't the menu number off the top of my head.?

Go figure

Extended Menu's can be accessed by enabling Menu 001.

Hidden Menu's can be accessed by starting with the radio off; press and hold buttons A, B, and C at the same time and while pressing the power button.

Hope this helps,

Maurice ...

Not to replace your parents, but be careful about accessing the hidden (technical) menus.? They are hidden for a reason.? No two radios have the same hidden menu values.? They are unique to your radio as it was set-up at the factory before shipment.? There is nothing in there you need to change, anyway.? Changing one value may affect another value which may affect yet a third value, and so forth.

But it's your radio and your money.

Virus-free.

Hi Maurice,

when yoi do a reset, you then need to go into menu 1 and set it on so that all menus are available as the default is to have a reduced menu set available.

This is my first time to post on this site.? Most of you guess correctly the answer but I had stated it wrong.? I had done a factory reset due to several problems I've been having.? The missing menu items were on the extended menu not the hidden menu and I found the menu 1 was turned off.? Thanks for the help anyway.

When I first hook the 857 d up everything was working fine. Cat control frequency, everything at work for a couple 3 weeks and then one day all of a sudden nothing changed that I know of and it just stopped working and it hasn't worked since. That's why I'm trying to figure out what might have happened?
