How to connect ft-857d to a android tablet for FT 8

 

Anyone using FT8 on a Android tablet with the ft-857d? ?? Need cable and program if this is possible.

I've been playing with a BlueCAT adapter (only a cheap one from fleabay item # 282412926508) and it works well on my PC with HRD (last free version), I've yet to try it on a tablet and I don't know if it can TX, but it's wireless via bluetooth. I need the HRD equivalent for android first tho'. Time off work for the season so will have a play next week. I've got too many wires already so it seemed like a good idea to me.

The Bluetooth CAT adapter does not pass audio through to radio/PC. You also will need a sound card interface for that (Singalink, Easy Digi etc.).

The guy who makes the Easy Digi made one to suit my 857D that has the audio cables for the PC on one end and the data port cable on the other. Then you just enable VOX for digital modes in the radio menus. Works very well.
