857D VFO encoder source ?

I know these are available online. I found a fellow who has a lot of them and they're not very?expensive. I don't have the URL but you should be able to find them with a search engine.

Hello.? Newer owner on an 857D.? Looking to source a replacement VFO encoder.? Any recommendations?

It is a solder in component. I think the part number is Q9000709A.? The VFO knob can be pulled off...with the brass shaft showing...so something is not right.? Oddy enough, when I put it back on, it works fine?? So, may not be a basket case.

Is the shaft coming out with the knob or the knob coming off that shaft? If the knob is coming off the shaft there is a set screw under the rubber cover that does come loose. If the shaft is coming out with the knob, call Yaesu Parts. They will have the correct part and it usually isn't anymore than you would pay from a third party place.

The knob is coming out with the shaft.? I call Y parts today and an email.? Nothing heard yet.

I just ordered a RF board for my VX7. Couple a couple calls to finally get someone on the phone. Not like pre COVID days when there was always an answer.

@yaesu.com correct??

Correct. There are some old links out there that point to old Vertex sites and are no longer good.?
