Scanning HF frequency standards of WWV.
Before you continue to read this _ I did not spent much time RTFM,
so if it is there , please -? just say so and post a reference to page(s). ? What I know I can scan SPECIFIC band for presence of signal , setting SQL etc... Can I setup a scan of standard WWV? frequency signals? - 2.5MHz / 5MHz /10MHz /15MHz ? |

You can¡¯t really ¡°scan¡± the WWV time signals since the scan would stop on the first one that breaks squelch and stay there, usually 10MHz. You could configure Scan Resume (menu 077 and 078) to let the scan continue but this would apply to all scanned channels which may not be desirable. Even so, do you really want to listen a few seconds of every received WWV channel every scan cycle through your channels?
I have all the WWV frequencies in consecutive channels and set them to NOT scan. When I am interested in propagation I just manually scroll through the channels. Of course, if your antenna is a screwdriver or requires a tuner, all of the WWV frequencies may not be in your receive bandwidth without retuning for each. Add to your frequency list 20MHz and 25MHz which are also being broadcast by WWV (and have been below propagation MUF the past few days). Peter |
