Hi Modelers, The first 2 rail "O" Scale train show of 2025 is only one week away. April 12th will be here soon. Dealers listed below will all be in attendance along with several others. As usual there will be coffee and Locally made bake goods for sale by the Fire Company during the show along with Lunch items. Ken Kime will continue a clinic on scenery. The scenery base is the foundation for our layout scenery. We'll discuss using cardboard web, rosin paper, wire screen, plaster gauze, and other materials to create a base best suited for your layout. Hello all I'm starting to work on a track plan for a 0n30 EBT protolance layout and most of the maps I'm finding are not giving me a clear veiw of the line and sidings and industry. So I'm looking for a linear map. I'll be model some but not all the the Landmark structure and bridges.

ALTOONA TRIBUNE Dec 18, 1924 about 100 yrs ago.... Boosters Charter Special Train For Holiday Buyers Organization Brings 1,000 Christmas Shoppers into Mt Union from Outlying Districts. Dinner is Served Mt. Union De 13--The Boosters organization of Mount Union chartered a special train train on the East broad Top railroad and gave everybody a free ride to Mount Union to do their Christmas shopping. The stop over was more than three hours which gave everybodyplenty of time. The business men hired extra clerks for the occasion and more than 1,000 people took advantage of the free train. The train started from Robertsdale and stopped enroute to take on the people at the several stations. The ladies of the Methodist church served a lunch in the social room of their new church,and several hundred of the crowd had their lunch there for 25 cents. The project benefitted the people who took advantage of it as well as our business men.

Some old friends in Mount Union recently sent me newspaper clippings from The Daily News about activity on the Eastie. There was a great article by Ron Morgan on the sale of standard gauge #3 to a park in Alabama. And another article by Ron was about the new EBT crossings south of the Rockhill yard. I was really sad about the switcher being sold. Apparently, Larry Salone, who owns the EBT trackage in Mount Union, needed the money. Although I can't believe he got much from the sale, considering the cost of moving the thing via highway from Pennsylvania to Alabama. I did wonder why they didn't ship it by rail, since there was already a rail connection to CSX at Jack's Narrows. Still, #3 was a part of the history of the EBT, and it was a shame to see it go after sitting in the engine house all these years. I'm wondering if any one has specific information on the archbar trucks used on older EBT equipment. Was it always the same type truck or different depending on the car builder or just based on what what was available at the time. I'm specifically interested in what was used under the wooden flat cars. I have found Lee Rainey's drawing of the wood flat in "Along the East Broad Top" This shows a truck with 24" wheels and 4' spacing with the bottom bar being flat. Are there any drawings that exist of this type? I'm working on building a pair of these in 2.5" to the foot scale, as well as the wooden flat to go on top of them. Thanks, -Randy

The trailing truck on my EBT brass #15 broke this morning. I know it's a loooong shot, but would anybody have a basket case EBT #15 in their scrap box. Repairing the frame would be difficult. I tried taking the trailing truck off one of my other unused engines -- #16 to be precise -- but the truck for 16 doesn't fit the frame for 14. If this fails, I will try to solder a piece of brass to the truck frame.
