We need a chapter president.....
Fellow aviators,
As I'd mentioned in the minutes from our last meeting, Ronnie Godfrey has stepped down from the position of Chapter President effective that evening. He'll continue to be the coordinator for the Young Eagles events (Thank goodness!) however his family and business obligations are first on the list as they should be and time for being our chapter leader just isn't easily available.? You may recall that when we "encouraged" him to step up to that plate he did say that he was already too busy but he took the position with the warning that he may have a short term. I want to thank Ronnie for being there for us! Now we need someone else to step up, so please either volunteer or suggest someone for the position.? "Voluntold" isn't the thing we want!?? Hah! New guys?? Sure!? Do it!? We're a friendly bunch and can help you get going. Thanks!? See you all for our regular chapter meeting on the third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the FBO! May 18th Young Eagle Rally at Wood County Help Request
May 18th YE Rally at Wood County - Request for volunteers ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: EAA 1475 (EAA 1475) - OurChapter.org <eaachapter1475@...> Date: Wed, May 1, 2024 at 8:54?AM Subject: May 18th Young Eagle Rally at Wood County Help Request To: Jim Quinn <jimquinndallas@...>
Hi Jim Quinn, Our Chapter will be hosting a Young Eagles Rally on May 18th at the Wood County Airport (KJDD) from 8:00AM to 12:00PM.? As you know, it's the volunteers that make these rallies so successful!? We¡¯re inviting you to help give these kids a memory that may change the course of their life. For some of these kids, this could be their first exposure to airplanes and to experience flight. No matter what chapter you're in or, even if you don¡¯t belong to a Chapter, if you'd like to be a part of this rally, either as a "Young Eagle Pilot" or as an "Event Ground Volunteer", please take the time to qualify yourself referencing the information below. Our event is currently listed as a "PRIVATE" event, meaning that you won't see it posted on the web. We do this to target kids in our local communties by advertisement through posters, flyers and word of month.? We have currently limited YE registrations to 60 kids however, if we get more volunteers to help we¡¯ll increase that number! As you can imagine, there are many other duties required in such an event other than ¡°Pilot¡± such as: Ground Instructor; Registration; Dispatch; Logbook Entries; Escort; Flight Line; Aircraft Safety Watch; Food service; Parking and so on.? Although preferred, you do NOT have to be a current EAA member or Chapter member to help as an ¡°Event Ground Volunteer¡±. Volunteer as an ¡°Event Ground Volunteer¡±: If you would like to assist in this rally¡¯s efforts as a ¡°Ground Volunteer, please use the link below to contact the Coordinator of the event to indicate your willingness to help and state your preference of duty listed above: Volunteer as a "YOUNG EAGLE PILOT": If you are a Young Eagle pilot and would like to participate in our event, please use this link to contact the Coordinator of the event and indicate your willingness to help: If you¡¯ve thought about becoming a Young Eagle Pilot but haven¡¯t yet, it¡¯s easy.? Follow this link to see the 5 simple steps to becoming a Young Eagles Pilot: . Once you've met these requirements, use this link to contact the coordinator of this event to let them know you¡¯re a new YE Pilot and would like to fly kids: That¡¯s it, so what are you waiting for? We could use your help! Thank you! You¡¯re Friends at EAA Chapter 1475 ![]() |

Minutes from 4/18/24 Chapter Meeting, Gregg County Historical Museum Brochure attached, etc.
Fellow Aviators, "Conquering the Skies: Evolution of Flight"to be held April 16 - August 31st of this year.? This will be an amazing exhibit and as a volunteer and member of the museum I can assure everyone that this will be one fantastic time to make a point and go visit the museum!? I've traveled all over the western US and I can say that our own museum is top notch, standing above any county museum I've seen over the last few decades. If you wish to participate and perhaps offer some time, materials, etc. just give Jennifer White (Education Coordinator) a ring or email (see website). Gregg Co Hist Museum Broch.pdf

Re: Monthly Chapter meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGuys ¨C I will not be able to make the meeting tonight.? I am in Fort Smith AR. ? I did call Petit Jean Lodge at Petit Jean Mountain State Park.? They will be glad to pick us up from the Petit Jean Mountain airport for the short drive to the lodge for lunch and obviously a stayover for anyone who wants to stay in the lodge. ? The route would be 07F to KMPJ.? About 187 NM and a flight time of 1 ¨C 1 ? hours depending on type of airplane.? The landing strip is concrete and is 5851 ft with RNAV approaches.? Good enough for what we all fly! ? ? Stephen Shore Pro-Built Equipment LLC Greggton Resources LLC Shore Production Services LLC 903.720.1465 ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]>

Rogers Family Gift/Dave Mason Memorial
Good evening! Several folks had said they¡¯d contribute to the Rogers family getting their son back on track after losing their home and belongings to a fire a week or so ago. If you guys could drop those things by my house at 9 Stewart Chandler Rd, Longview, TX 75604 before next Wednesday I will arrange a time to get them to the family!?

Re: REMINDER: EAA 1656 Monthly Chapter meeting Thursday evening, 1900
One item I wanted to bring up for discussion is for helping the family of Chuck Rogers recover some of his son's aviation training materials. He sent me the following message, and I'm sure we could pool our resources and meet this need! I will donate a new Sporty's Flight Bag. I would say we need a headset (may need 2-3 guys?to pitch in for that), PPL study books, logbook, E6B, Plotter, Sectional, kneeboard. I'm not sure if there is anything I'm missing.? Hey Ronnie. I'm not sure if you or any other pilots could do something for me and help us out. Do you remember my 16 year old son Cole? This is really more for him since I haven't been flying recently. He soloed this summer and has been studying for his written. We lost our flight bag and his backpack in the fire. Between the two bags, they contained all our aviation gear (logbooks, manuals, study books, headsets, asa computer, ect). He even lost his solo shirt tail and all his "flying wardrobe, hats, t shirts, ect." I don't have a lot of contacts. Emily and I are so overwhelmed at the moment and I don't want Cole to loose focus and not finish his PPL. That's why I never finished years ago (Loosing focus). I'm trying to see if someone in the aviation community could reach out to other pilots and help us get him what he lost and needs to finish some of his training. Again please forgive me for reaching out, but this has been so hard for us and this kid has kept it together. He's tough on the outside but I can see it catching up to him. I just want to find a way to keep his head in the game. Thank you. Chuck On Wed, Mar 20, 2024 at 9:09?AM Ronnie Godfrey via <r.godfrey914=[email protected]> wrote:
