¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDave I do have all the info from the yahoo group.? I did not get to "move" this group was busy with others. Some of what I have been doing is house cleaning.? I dont move all the files.? While there is relevant content not every file is always worth moving.? New ways "better" of doing things come up, links go dead and there is simply some junk no one wants in any group.? Well unless your looking for that kinda thing..? :) I have been working on modifying the links page of my WEB site to host the archives of some of the yahoo groups.? This gives people a chance to download ALL the content and use it as they need it.? Also provides a backup in case groups.io goes south.? Read the ownership part of groups.io ???? In addition groups.io has limited storage space.? Some groups simply cant be transferred with the limited space. Time for a good house cleaning.? Anyone with content they wish to
share should move it to the new group.? Anyone who has something
new or different should upload it to the new group.? Get some
conversations flowing and activity back in the groups again. If you would like the help I would gladly assist. Chris The link to my links page..
""? About half way down. I dont have anything uploaded yet but will get there...

Chris 1) can you move files here 2) do you want to co-owner FYI? I did not know what happened to you. So started this group to keep alive. Dave |
I just uploaded the Yahoo messages archive.? Its in the files section under Yahoo archives.? It is a .ZIP file.? Thats compressed data.? Windows 10 can access it automatically to? extract the MBOX files it contains.? Or look into 7-zip for older versions of windows..? MBOX files are archives of the messages.? You will need an MBOX viewer to access those files.? ""https://sourceforge.net/projects/mbox-viewer/"" is a free program to do this.? This make it MUCH easier to search the entire message base from the Yahoo group.
A couple other notes.? I am NOT shutting down the Yahoo groups.? They WILL remain active as a mailing list.? Some people simply dont want to come to groups.io.??? So they will still have access to messages from the Yahoo group.? IF? there is no activity or Yahoo changes their minds -- I will deal with that later. It is NOT possible to upload the messages to this group as part of the message section.? groups.io changed their policy on how this happens.? its no longer a free option.? Providing the archives as a download is the FAR better solution.? If you choose to download them you have complete access to the archives regardless of groups.io policy changes.? They are also MUCH easier to search and find useful information that way. |
