Fw: Next Level Chef¡¯ finale:
From: Sharon Pohlman Well shoot I wanted someone else. But they all deserved it. ¡®Next Level Chef¡¯ finale: Did Austin, Beatrice, or Megan win the Season 4 title? Denton Davidson Reality TV May 15, 2025 Tonight on Next Level Chef: The final three chefs have made it to the last round of the competition and have proven that they have what it takes to claim the title. But first, they must create an outstanding three-course meal in just 90 minutes. The winner will walk away with $250,000 and an exclusive year-long mentorship with Gordon Ramsay, Richard Blais, and Nyesha Arrington. With the guidance of a mentor at every level of the Next Level Chef kitchen, the contestants must deliver nothing less of excellence in their final test in the all-new "Final Level" season finale episode of Next Level Chef airing Thursday, May 15 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox. The Teams Each week professional chefs, home chefs, and social media chefs have seconds to grab, minutes to cook, and moments to deliver their dishes to mentors Gordon Ramsay, Richard Blais, and Nyesha Arrington. Who will rise to the challenge? And who's dream will go up in smoke? See the teams (with previously eliminated contestants crossed out) below.Team Ramsay Name Age Background Arnav 19 Home Chef Beatrice 18 Pro Chef Meg 33 Social Media Chef Mistie 41 Social Media Chef Ryan 22 Pro ChefTeam Arrington Name Age Background Becca 27 Social Media Chef Bobby 38 Social Media Chef Cathy 30 Home Chef Iman 35 Pro Chef Natalia 28 Home ChefTeam Blais Name Age Background Austin 30 Pro Chef Brandon 36 Pro Chef Jeff 35 Social Media Chef Maryam 31 Home Chef Megan 37 Home Chef The Final Challenge The finalists will cook a three-course meal, beginning in the Basement Level with Richard where they'll have to make a stunning appetizer. Next, they'll move to the Middle Level with Nyesha where they'll prepare a delicious fish course. Finally, they'll meet Gordon on the Top Level where each chef must serve an incredible meat entree. Each of them will have 90 minutes to produce all three dishes ¡ª and how they choose to manage their time is totally up to them. Every time they finish a dish they'll hit the buzzer in the center of the kitchen and stop their clock. Before they get started, Gordon introduces Next Level Chef Season 3 champion Gabi Chappel, who now has a new cooking show on Bite and has enjoyed incredible success since winning a year ago. She tells the finalists, "To win, don't worry about what anyone else is doing because it will tie you up. Just focus on making your dishes as good as they can be." Next, each contestant is surprised to find family members waiting for them in the kitchen. Austin's parents are there to encourage him, Beatrice is greeted by her best friend and brother, while Megan is met by her best friend and mother. With renewed energy, each chef then prepares themself to cook for the prize.Appetizers The platform drops the Basement level and the chefs battle for the best ingredients available. Megan grabs scallops, Austin takes red shrimp, and Beatrice gets chicken thighs. Both Beatrice and Austin ¡ª the rivalry that keeps on giving ¡ª are making Japanese dishes. For their themes throughout this finale, Beatrice calls hers "Tokyo Izakaya," Austin's is "My Culinary Journeys on a Plate," and Megan's is "Pacific Northwest Surf 'n' Turf." Austin finishes first with one hour, one minute remaining for his next two courses. Beatrice finishes just one minute later, followed by Megan with just over 59 minutes left. The judges will taste each course as they finish. Beatrice's chicken thigh yakitori with cucumber salad "looks beautiful" and is "simple, smoky, and pleasant." Gordon says they could use a touch more crispiness. Richard would like to have seen some fresh citrus. Austin's butter-poached red shrimp with yuzu butter and crispy leeks is "elegant" and "looks like it's on the cover of a magazine." Gordon doesn't doesn't think the dish screams for fried leeks and it's too rich. Megan's scallops with wild mushroom truffle sauce are cooked beautifully, but Gordon warns her to stop ser

Fw: And the Winner of ¡®The Amazing Race 37¡¯ Is
From: Sharon Pohlman And the Winner of ¡®The Amazing Race 37¡¯ Is¡ Spoiler alert! Who crossed the finish line in first place? Was it Alyssa and Josiah, Carson and Jack, Han and Holden or Jonathan and Ana? Mike Bloom Updated: May 15, 2025 Three months ago, a record 14 teams kicked off their journey across nine countries, 18 cities, and over 29,000 miles on The Amazing Race 37. Their race was dubbed a "season of surprises," with each leg containing a different twist from returning favorites to brand-new shake-ups. But the racers themselves were full of surprises, from big gameplay moves to massive comebacks to intense teammate arguments. At the end of it all, after quickly sending off the final eliminated team, the three remaining duos flew back stateside to Miami, where they competed in a million-dollar "scramble" in the hopes of crossing the finish line first. Check out our spoiler-filled recap about the results from tonight's finale episode below. Sonja Flemming/CBSCarson McCalley and Jack Dodge ¨C Best friends and gamers Carson and Jack's journey on The Amazing Race was akin to, appropriately, an epic quest. Despite feeling outmatched physically, the best friends finished in first on the very first leg, and strung together a dominant, yet underestimated, run in the first half of the season. Bulgaria, however, proved to pierce their Armor Class, knocking them down to last place with seemingly no way out. But Carson and Jack's relentless positivity won the day, as they made up a three-hour deficit to kickstart one of the most impressive comebacks in Amazing Race history. From there, the two got their groove back, reasserting their dominance as they won the last three legs of the season. Crucially, that included the final one, as the two, in a familiar position, asserted their lead early on and never relinquished it.Who was eliminated on The Amazing Race 37 tonight? Han Nguyen and Holden Nguyen ¨C Siblings The youngest team of the season, Han and Holden got schooled early on in the race. The siblings continuously struggled with maintaining their composure under pressure, causing them to spend the majority of the race in the back of the pack. However, constant brushes with elimination ¨C including one last-place finish that ended in a rare non-elimination leg ¨C steeled their resolve, giving them things to work on for the next time. And those lessons paid off in spades when Han and Holden surprisingly sailed into the Final Three. Unfortunately, sailing itself was one of the things that held them back from taking home the million dollars, as they finished a respectable second place. Jonathan Towns and Ana Towns ¨C Married parents Talking with host Phil Keoghan preseason, he said that he had never seen a racer as hard on himself as Jonathan. The more talked-about thing from the married parents, however, was not about Jonathan's intensity on himself, but his wife. When he and Ana were racing at their best, they were one of the most dominant teams of the season, winning three legs, surviving a U-Turn vote, and getting the first-ever "Driver's Seat" power. But when things were not going their way, they would quickly fall apart, with Jonathan simultaneously shutting down and lashing out at Ana. In spite of some incredibly tense arguments on the race, the two had a surprisingly warm finish to their season. When Ana was forced to face her fear of the ocean in the final Roadblock, both of them knew their game was sunk. And so the two crossed the finish line in a distant third, but with smiles, affirming that they were each other's "person." Alyssa Borden and Josiah Borden ¨C Married nurse anesthetists For the entirety of the season, Alyssa and Josiah were one of the most consistent teams on the race. That didn't just apply to their even track record, but also their temperaments and attitude towards each other. That all went south, however, when the married couple traveled west to Portugal. The pressure of making the final leg had Alyssa and Josiah breaking down, including a rare argument between the two. Navigational difficulties and a car

Fw: Ancient Origins Premium Preview (May 15)
News Articles Shop Account The Enduring Legacy of Merlin: Shaman, Warrior, Wild Man, Magician, Prophet Imagine the scene. Merlin, however you see him¡ªas a grey-bearded but ageless man, or youth with more knowledge in his eyes that he should have¡ªsits in a room somewhere in Wales. He is speaking to a second man, a cleric or possibly a monk, who writes as fast as he can, with a sharpened quill on parchment, by the light of a rush lamp or wavering candle, the words of the great prophet. Almost in what we now would call stream-of-consciousness Merlin, perhaps with eyes closed, watches events unfold on the screen of his eyelids, unfolds the things only he can see: the coming of the Great Dragon, the Antichrist; the crowning of Arthur, the greatest king of the western world; the fall of kingdoms, the loss of crowns. All this and more. And in between these prophetic utterances, fragments of stories from the vast panoply of Arthurian romance, some familiar¡ªthe quest for the Grail, the adventures of Lancelot and Percival¡ªothers never heard before: the dream of Guinevere and the bringing of letters to King Arthur from the mighty Prester John, whose fabled Kingdom in the Far East became a beacon of hope for the beleaguered West in this long-ago time. According to the Medieval French Story of Merlin, the last person to hear the voice of the great magician was the great knight Sir Gawain. He was himself, at the time, in some difficulty, having been turned into a dwarf. But having recovered from this adventure he carried home to Arthur the last words of the mage: 'Never shall no man speak with me after you, therefore it is for nothing that any man should try to seek me out.' But this last call, the 'Cri de Merlin' as it is called, still echoes in our ears, just as the figure of Merlin himself continues to exert a profound fascination on the Western world. Dozens of books, plays, and films have appeared in recent years, which have kept the focus of attention on this remarkable being, who combines the roles of wise man, seer, prophet, and shaman and whose story is one of the great native epics of Britain. Volumes of prophecies, attributed to Merlin, have appeared over the centuries since this story was written down¡ªhis cry taking this form so that all could hear it. That this Merlin is a British or at least Celtic figure is important. While the Arthurian legends of which he is such an important part betray the extensive influence of French and Germanic story-tellers, the story of Merlin, in its purest form, draws entirely upon native British traditions and beliefs. Despite efforts to trace his origins back to Atlantis, he remains essentially a Celtic figure, whose characteristics are traceable to specific themes within Celtic tradition. Continue reading... Astronomy Picture of the Day Discover the cosmos! Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer. 2025 May 15 A Plutonian Landscape Image Credit: NASA, Johns Hopkins Univ./APL, Southwest Research Institute Explanation: This shadowy landscape of majestic mountains and icy plains stretches toward the horizon on a small, distant world. It was captured from a range of about 18,000 kilometers when New Horizons looked back toward Pluto, 15 minutes after the spacecraft's closest approach on July 14, 2015. The dramatic, low-angle, near-twilight scene follows rugged mountains formally known as Norgay Montes from foreground left, and Hillary Montes along the horizon, giving way to smooth Sputnik Planum at right. Layers of Pluto's tenuous atmosphere are also revealed in the backlit view. With a strangely familiar appearance, the frigid terrain likely includes ices of nitrogen and carbon monoxide with water-ice mountains rising up to 3,500 meters (11,000 feet). That's comparable in height to the majestic mountains of planet Earth. The Plutonian landscape is 380 kilometers (230 miles) across.
