Lot 5 screw questions

 

Hi,?
I have a lot 5 and i have a lot of backlash in all of the screws, i would like to make and/buy new threaded blocks for it; what are the lead screw dimensions for the cross slide, the compound, and the apron? Also which screw is left and right hand threaded?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

i’ve a restored lot 2 for sale in operational condition, might be cheaper to buy whole lathe vs getting something machined.?

All three lead screws are 7/16-10 acme. Cross slide and tail stock are left hand thread, compound is right hand thread. ?You also need to address any end play in the lead screw mounting bushings. The cross slide is prone to a lot of end play on Dalton lathes. ?There is no source for these lead screws they have to be made. Same for the ?nuts. Dennis

Thank you for the information, i started with snugging up the play in the bushings use spring washers but that only got me so far; there is still about a quarter turn of play in the handles. Also what is the thread on the half nut.
