Lot 4. #112
Ive had my Lot 4 for 10 years now and while it’s far from the prettiest machine it has made a ton of parts for me over the years. I finally have upgraded to a 10” atlas and retired my Dalton. If anyone is in the northeast around Albany NY and looking for a machine let me know. I would hate to just put the machine on a shelf to live out its life.

Hi Lee. For you guys that are unfamiliar with the early Lot 4 lathes (1914)

the first couple of hundred of them built used the lot 3 compound slide. The Lot 2 was built for just a few months of 1913 and the Lot 3 was built for a very short time in 1913 and maybe the start of 1914. The top casting is what is different. Also the early Lot 4 lathes had the patent tag on the lower casting of the tail stock rather than on the end door. Other than these two things they are like all later models of the Lot 4 built till the end of production in 1929. Other than Lee's lathe missing the right back gear guard the lathe is all very original and looks to be in nice condition for a machine that's 107 years old:-)))) Dennis. -----Original Message----- From:
