Winter Solstice

jhdouglas59

Alas! The shortest day of daylight is upon us today. The good news
is that spring is only 89 days away.

Enjoy the darkness and the heat I hope you all have at present to supplement the wintry blasts. Who knows what next year will bring
when the cap and trade nutcases tell the utilities to "go green".

Next year we will probably not be able to afford supplemental heat
from carbon belching power plants which will be taxed to extinction.

Sounds like a bleak future for coal miners.

Not much of a future for chimney sweepers either since fireplaces
will be outlawed because of the pollution caused by wood burning
fireplaces.

I guess that won't really matter, because tree cutting will be
outlawed also. So there won't be a source of firewood in the future.

I forgot to put "going green" on my most annoying list.

Maybe that should be the theme of top trite terms for 2009.

Cheers from your annoying pest,

John
