I, too, fly my U S flag and Texas flag 24/7. All my neighbors around
me fly their flags 24/7.

I'm fortunate to live in Boerne which is about 30 miles northwest of
San Antonio. As you well know, San Antonio has lots of military bases
so patriotism is alive and well.

God Bless America. Also, a salute to your son who serves his country
as he does. We appreciate his service.

Lanny:

Are you staying at the Hyatt Wild Oak Resort (close to Sea World)?

We went on the grand tour last year when we considered buying a time
share. We sat through the presentation and decided that we currently
don't have the time to travel since I am still working out of my home
office. Probably for another year or so.

Let me know when you will be in S A and we can plan to see you then.

How many of you remember the big deal that Decoration Day was
when
you
were a kid growing up in Dalton? I still call it Decoration Day
even
though the name got changed to Memorial Day.

I remember the kids on bikes riding in the parade through town
which I
think ended at the Dalton Cemetery to honor those soldiers who
gave
their lives for our country. God bless those soldiers for what
they
did to allow the USA to keep freedom alive. I wish we still had
the
patriotic spirit in this country today. How times have changed
(not
for the better, though).

I remember being one of those kids with the bicycle and all its
decorations on it. I especially remember the cards we put in the
wheel
spokes somehow so they would make a flapping sound. Flap, Flap,
Flap.
What cheap entertainment that was. And a whole lot of fun. I also
remember the poppy flowers pin that I got to wear. I still buy
one
every year.

Let's all remember Decoration Day this year for what it really is
for.
To recognize the many lives given for our freedom we still have
today.

And, as an aside, drive carefully, and have a great Decoration
Day
this
year.

What's your memories for Decoration Day as a kid?

Lanny:

It's a neato place. The landscaping is great, and the model rooms we
saw were in good taste. The rest of the place looked fine too.

There is an outside area for kids (and adults, too) for water sports,
etc. We saw the place in April last year before people came for the
summer activities.

Since it is a Hyatt place, I'm sure the amenities are many and very
inviting. I think you'll enjoy it.
