Poll: Bread stuffing vs. Cornbread stuffing

jhdouglas59

I am starting a poll to ask who likes which kind of stuffing for
turkeys?

I prefer bread stuffing (made from stale white and/or brown bread
with mushrooms, bacon and hot peppers plus celery and onions with
perhaps some oysters). I suspect this is somehow related to my
Dalton years.

Cornbread stuffing is fowl (sic) tasting to me.

What is your preference?

The deadline for voting is Sunday Nov 20 at 8 pm (CST).

The results will be meaningless.

Don't forget to take the turkey innards from the turkey before roasting.

Hoping your turkey is edible,

Johnny

Bread stuffing for me.

I guess I’ve been in the south too long as I like the cornbread much better.? I don’t stuff the turkey though, just bake it in a separate pan.? I will have to admit though that I never liked my mother’s bread dressing.

Stale bread, butter, onions, celery, mushrooms, broth is still the best according to my taste.

i swear you took the poll last year....LOL? My dressing is german. PA dutch style I guess since that is where my recipe came from......
lots of torn up stale white and brown bread, sautee'd onions and celery in tons of butter, mix together and then add a pkg of pepperidge SP? farm herb mix and cover with instant mashed potatoes (my gram use the real thing)? then add enough chicken or turkey broth to moisten (I use part bullion cubes) and salt an pepper.? Mix well and then melt butter in a large skillet and add the stuffing an brown it or make into patties for the next day.?
What are the holidays without butter cream cheese sugar.
?

I don't recall how the poll turned out last year. I may
have to go back to the 2010 postings for a tabulation.

I do recall some nonsense about tofurkey.

At least someone out there recalls previous postings to the group
dalton59.

We will be traveling to and from Wally World the next few months.

Glad to hear there is some interest in the 2011 version of the poll.

Maybe we should have a poll on cranberries. Fresh or that jellystuff
from a can? I like both.

How about fresh sweet potatoes (or is it sweet potatos) or Sugary
Sam's canned yams? What is the diffence between a sweet potato
or a yam? Who knows or who cares? I like both.

What uses are there for turkey skin? Name 10 uses. I can't think of
even one.
