Just a note.....
Gwen Meier
Hi everybody,
I heard from Cookie Shane via e-mail (she's on the Reunion Committee) and she said that the committee got a list of the people who started high school with us but didn't graduate with us......they plan to invite those people.??? Also, she talked to Merlin Stoin a few days ago ("what fun", she said).???? Don & Beth Johnson have also joined the committee.??? She said "it's hard to get people to help on a committee, but guys that live around here just don't want to get involved".??? The committee?is working on a Memory Scrapbook.??? They are using the many resources that the Dalton Historical Society provides. That's all for now! Gwen |

Thanks Gwen for your work on getting this thing going.? Just a quick note which may or not be of interest, those who knew me probably find this amazing, I did.? In church last Sunday the hymn before communion was "Let Us Break Bread Together".? I sang that as a solo during one of the school programs and still could sing the words from memory.? Not only was the amazing thing was I sang a solo, but the fact in those days you could have a religious hymn and/or program in a public school.? I wonder if that is still true in Dalton today? ? Ya'll take care,? Lanny ----- Original Message ---- From: Gwen Meier To: dalton Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2008 4:02:36 PM Subject: [dalton59] Just a note..... Hi everybody, |

Hello:
To all of you on the unofficial planning committee. It's great to hear that the official planning comittee is letting us know what is happening. Do any of you know if there is a website or users group that we can look at to see what is being planned? At this point the unofficial planning committee has several unplanned events which may or may not occur. Spontaneous unplanned events are often more fun than planned events. Looking forward to many unplanned, disorganized, spontaneous non- events next May. The Weaselmeister P.S. Ike was no big deal for us--not a drop of rain even though Ike was 250 miles east of us. What a mess that hurricane made though. We're glad that it missed us. My wife is in San Antonio from last Friday until next Sunday, staying with the daughter-in-law and kids for a spell while our son is at a special school in So. Calrolina for 3 months.? Like weasel said, no problem there with the "himmacane". ? Meanwhile, while grandma is in S.A. with the others, our 5th grand kid and 2nd granson, Luke, decided to come early and was introduced to this world at 5:51am on 9/14, 7lbs 13 ozs and 20 inches.? All are well, except grandma who is depressed from missing the arrival. ? Lanny ----- Original Message ---- From: jhdouglas59 To: dalton59@...
