Another one of life's bitter disappointments
Shamrock shakes from McDonald's are green and supposedly have a minty taste.
After craving a mint milkshake, I decided to try a Shamrock shake yesterday.
The shake was definitely green. However, it tasted like a lime flavoring and not a mint flavoring.
Another one of life's bitter disappointments.
Anyone have a similar McDonald's offtaste Shamrock shake?
Or maybe it is I who can't taste stuff like I did years ago.
Another aging problem I suppose.
Happy St. Paddy's Day soon,

Re: Turkey dressing poll results/2012 presidential poll update
Here is an update on my forecast for the 2012 presidential election results (based on my previous forecast algorism and assumption that Steve Forbes does not get the Republicrat nomination):
Popular vote:
Demicans 90,000,000 75.0% Republicrats 30,000,000 25.0%
Electoral vote:
Demicans 522 97.0% Republicrats 16 3.0%
I assume that only 3 states vote Republicrat in 2012:
Oklahoma 7 electoral votes North Dakota 3 electoral votes Utah 6 electoral votes
The 2008 results were;
Popular vote:
Demicans 69,000,000 53.0% (rounded) Republicrats 60,000,000 47.0% (rounded)
Electoral vote:
Demicans 365 68.0% (rounded) Republicrats 173 32.0%
This may be our last election as we know it.
Hope I am wrong.
Have a happy leap day.

4 votes for bread dressing 1 vote for cornbread dressing 17 non votes for disinterested members who don't care what kind (if any) of dressing
So if you want the results for voting members, the result is:
80% favor bread dressing 20% favor cornbread dressing
On the other hand, if you count the non votes, the result is:
18.1818% favor bread dressing 4.5455% favor cornbread dressing 77.2727% don't care
So I guess the winner (probably will always be a winner) is:
The don't care/disinterested memmbers win in a landslide!!!
I will use this same methodology in the next presidential election in 2012 to project a winner. A logical time to make the prediction would be February 29, 2012.
My current prediction (subject to change of course) is that Steve Forbes ekes out a victory over Barack Hussein Obama.
If Steve Forbes opts out of the election in the primaries, then the obvious result is Barack Hussein Obama winning 77.2727% of the popular vote and 92.312% in the electoral college in 2012.
I think the don't care populace outweigh the informed voters next election.
Have a great turkey day and don't stuff yourself. Let the turkey get stuffed instead.

Linda:
Lucky you.
I think you really made me think Elvis is alive (kind of).
I have not yet had the opportunity to see Elvis in person.
In regard to your RMD from your IRA, I just went through this process this month.
You probably just need to fill out some forms from the place that has your IRA funds. It's fairly easy to do.
I'm sure other classmates in our group have done this already.
The good news is you will be getting some spending money.
The bad news is that you are depleting your funds (unless the fund increases in value before your next distribution calculation at the end of this year).
Now that you have seen Elvis, maybe you will luck out and see aliens. Have you been to Roswell NM or to Area 51 in Nevada? Those places are on my bucket list.
Still looking for Elvis,

I saw this on a t-shirt at Luckenbach, Tx a couple of days ago.
Not that I am an Elvis fan--just thought it was clever.
I don't necessarily believe that Elvis is still alive, although it seems plausible.
Or perhaps the meaning is that the end is near and the person wearing the t-shirt is on his own farewell tour to join Elvis in the afterlife.
Just give the elderly guy wearing it a break. The elderly guy was probably actually younger than me. Elderly is a fleeting definition to me.
Also the guy in the t-shirt was accompanied by a lady wearing a dress made from flowered drapes (or so it appeared to me).
Perchance she was the archangel who travels with Elvis.
It only seems poetic that Elvis may be pondering a future performance at the Luckenbach Dancehall.
Maybe he can sing a song along with Waylon Jennings who sang the Luckenbach, Texas song along with Willie Nelson and the boys.
Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas for the next class gathering.
Who knows what we will see?
As an aside, here is a great answer to the next person who asks a question to you.
Just say "Why do you ask?" and watch the dumbfounded look on the questioner's face.
This answer works well with the mundane trite question "How are you?"
Nobody actually wants to know how you are doing. It is just idle conversation.
So how are you all doing?

Re: Follow Me--I'm Having Drinks With Elvis
I agree that the current generation are zombie-like with all of their techie stuff.
I still listen to vinyls, cassette tapes, and even more modernly--cd discs. Nothing really beats scratchy distorted vinyls however. The sound of vinyls is pure sound.
Maybe the vinyls are coming back. Probably to meet Elvis.
Whatever happened to Mathias Koops? I voted for him in 1976.
Pardon me. You must have mistaken me for someone who actually cares about the 1976 election. As I recall, the peanut farmer won that election. Those were the days of high interest rates and rampant inflation.
Now in these Obama days we can now enjoy low interest rates and inflation. Nothing like low interest rates to give me some near zero returns on money market accounts. Sure makes retirement challenging (to say the least).
Time to put some fuel in my vehicles before the prices increase daily.
I wish all sporadic good times.
Looking forward to a dim future,

Why do I ask?
Does the questionmark belong before or after the parenthesis? I don't have the time to look it up in my Plain English Handbook. I assume that the Plain English Handbook is written in English. There probably is now a Spanish version. It's hopeless if that is true.
Adios y'all

I could not find the attachment either. I know I can't remember much anymore, but I don't recall sending an attachment.
Why do you ask?
Anyways, here is a response.
I am relatively ok. I'm not unwell.
We saw Thomas Michael Riley who is a good entertainer. He actually talks to his audience between songs to add some flavor to his singing routines. I think he lives in Fredericksburg, Tx. He won the Texas Album Of The Year in 2010.
Mr. Riley has written a number of successful songs.
I think he wrote these songs:
Cow Pasture Pool Perfectly Normal Redneck Riviera Deathbed Confession
The best part of Luckenbach is that the day concerts are free.
Still waiting for the good times,
