PLOT SUMMARY: Lainee Delaney, a part time private investigator and substitute teacher, is hired by her coworker, Cade, to investigate his brother, Dylan. Struggling in the aftermath of recent tragedies and needing money, Lainee was looking for a distraction and welcomes this opportunity. But the investigation proves to be more dangerous than she anticipates and reopens a door to her past.
CHARACTERS
Lainee Delaney - Female. Mid to late 20’s. She’s still finding her way in life. She’s had a couple of recent tragedies so she’s somewhat closed off from people, quiet, observant, smart, serious, stands up for herself. She’s a tomboy who wears little to no makeup and dresses very casually. She’s average height, loves being active, is in shape physically and is VERY competitive.
Cade Gainess - Male. Early 30’s, tall and athletic. He’s a bit of a know-it-all, flirty, competitive, laid back, loves his family and would do anything for them.
Dylan Gainess - Male. Mid 20’s. Known as a charmer. Everything in life comes easy to him but he’s always very much in control, smart, cunning and takes charge of every situation he’s in. Beneath all that control is someone who’s vulnerable. He’s good looking and has a presence.
Marsha Parker - Female. Mid to late 20’s. She’s flirty, flighty, loud and showy. Wears lots of makeup. She’s tall and commands attention. Deep down she’s insecure and desperate for love.
Helga - Female. Late 50’s to early 60’s. Open ethnicity but she has a thick accent. She’s been with the Delaney’s for years and thinks of Lainee as a daughter.
Peter Johnson/Pietro Bellagio - Male. Mid to late 20’s. Dresses well. Has an air of danger about him. He conveys a very intimidating persona to get what he wants from people and demands respect but he’s awkward socially. Has a difficult relationship with his father. Doesn’t feel respected in life.
Marie and Joseph Gainess - Male/Female. Late 40’s to early 50’s. Laid back, fun parents but they will also fight for their sons.
Gary - Male, early 20’s. Pawn in a bigger game. Arrogant but not very smart. Likes to brag and put everything on social media.
Paul - Male, early 20’s. Pawn in a bigger game. Arrogant, ruthless, bossy. Likes to brag and put everything on social media.
