Day 4: OOC 586
DM/ OOC - Day 4 I went ahead and started the next day. The group needs to decide what (if anything) they want to do before leaving Shadowdale, and also which direction they want to travel. I¡¯ve taken a few liberties, like assuming Breslen and Ashley stayed at the Inn whilst the others went back to Tabby¡¯s to sleep. You can correct me if you had something else in mind. I just assumed everyone would meet back at the tavern. I might not have been clear but the Tavern and Inn are the same place: The Old Skull Inn and Tavern. Good luck!

Day 4: the journey begins 72
DM Eleint 26: Day 4 Location: Shadowdale -The Old Skull Inn Time: Dawn As the inky black night peacefully dissolves into indigo, then takes on shades of bronze and pink, the individuals wake from their slumbers, and slowly arise to a new day. After preparing their needs and gathering their possessions, they converge back at the Old Skull Inn where Breslen has joined Ashley for a breakfast of warm stew and bread. The tavern is sparsely occupied this morn. A couple of travelers sit at the bar discussing their plans for continuing westward, a pilgrim from far off Kara Tur sits alone in silent meditation near the fire, and a man dressed as a merchant from Amn is in the corner with a quill going through his ledger, but otherwise the room is empty ¡®cept for the serving girl mopping the floor beyond the bar. Raina notes that the eastern sky forewarns of rain. In discussing the journey to Myth Drannor the group is offered maps by the Amnian merchant, and they come up with two possible routes. They could take The North Ride to Voonlar, then Shind Road to Yulash, then Moander¡¯s Road south through the forest. The North Ride and Shind Road are easy to traverse, well marked, and relatively safe, but it is a journey of nearly 70 leagues (200 miles). And unfortunately, since Moander was defeated before reaching Myth Drannor, the road doesn¡¯t fully reach the city so the final few leagues are through dense, uncharted forest. The other way is shorter and involves going south to Ashabenford (nearly 40 leagues, 100 miles), then east past the Shattered Stone and Essembra Way (another 20 leagues, 50 miles) to the Street of Sorrows which takes you north into Myth Drannor. These roads are also well marked and easy to walk/ride, however, it is well noted that many Orc villages line the River Ashaba south of the Dalelands. Some of these tribes are willing to barter with outsiders, but others are very ethnocentric and view all non-Orcs as enemies. Discuss. ? /DM

Day 4: On the road to Y?lash 88
?DM Eleint 26: Day 4 Location: The outskirts of town Time: Morn to midday Having completed their tasks, the group departs town following the road toward Y?lash. Raina confirms that the weather will be cloudy but rain seems unlikely. The Northride to Voonlar is well traveled and well maintained, and according to the maps it¡¯s roughly thirty leagues between towns, so if they press on with minimal distractions, Beslen reasons, they can be at the next Tavern in only three or four days. The journey begins pleasantly enough, crossing paths with the occasional traveler heading to Shadowdale, and at one point a rider going in the same direction toward Y?lash, who canters with you for a half a league, discussing his need to assist his sister-in-law (his wife¡¯s sister) on her farm for a season as her husband was caught in a stampede and has several broken bones that will take the entire season to properly heal, and their young son, a lad of only three winters, is obviously unable to do more than feed the chickens, and after last harvest they- ... Oh, how he did drone on... But as the day approached the noon midday and they were planning to stop for a rest and a meal, they heard a thunderstorm crashing from the stream a few dozen meters west of the road. Two male voices, shouting, with howling further off in the distance... And what do you do? (OOC: If you want to RP conversations with the travelers, we can. If you want to just ask questions to me out of character, that¡¯s fine also.) /DM

Fw: Sweet William 3
Sweet William grew up in an orc tribe. His father, Nogram, a sub chief, was married off to Lyoni, the youngest daughter of a local duke to forge a peace between the orcs and humans. It worked for a time and against all expectations, the two fell in love. They had a child that they named William, who his mother always referred to as Sweet William. Nogram taught the boy to fight, tactics and wilderness survival. From his mother, he received a classical education. Being a half breed, he was never truly accepted by the orcs and his life was difficult. He learned to fight almost before he learned to walk.!This was when he found the rage. Or, perhaps it found him. It was near his twelfth birthday (half-orcs are considered adults at 14) when his father was murdered by a rival sub chief named Gondark. The humans were at war and Gondark and others were advising the chief Thag Brokefang to break the alliance with the humans and strike at them in surprise while they were distracted. Nogram, influenced by Lyoni and having seen the might of the human border fortresses himself, instead advised that they attack the dwarves, whose incessant tunneling for ore had put them dangerously close to the orcs own caves. In order to push through the attack on the humans, Gondark and his men ambushed Nogram and killed him, although he took many down the dark road with him. Sweet William and his mother escaped and warned the humans, and the orcs, having lost the element of surprise, had to call off the attack. Sweet William snuck back for revenge, but Gondark was too well guarded. Instead, he caught his adult son Hagrim alone and, calling the fury, chopped him into small bloody bits, leaving the sign of his father on the corpse so all would know who the killer was. He left then, never to return. Neither does he dwell with the humans, who hate him as much as the orcs had. Instead, he wanders the land as a mercenary. And inside, the fury rages still. House Rules? ATTN DM 19
I was wondering if we could have a file uploaded in the Files section to explain a few house rules and what's generally expected of players. This would also include whatever level/type of adult content is allowed here, keeping in mind the ToS of the group site. I know there's a tiny blurb on the home page, as well as further back in the archives, but the latter tends to get "lost in the shuffle", if you know what I mean. We could possibly benefit from having an actual document that goes into a bit more detail? What do you think guys, DM especially? I can give suggestions if needed. Otherwise, I'll just stay out of it and let DM decide all of it. :) Silver

NPC writeups? 2
While I don't see Tabby's parents showing up in campaign as they'd make the game too easy for the group. At least at first. Here's some info on them, and a few other characters she would intact with. Tabby's adoptive father: Thoros Healand. LG Cleric Of Tempus. Level 15. Age 51. Local cleric and maintainer of a rather important shrine to all of Shadowdale's fallen heroes. (Retired adventurer) Tabby's adoptive mother: Nenneke Healand. Retired CG Rogue now a druid. Level 10/10. Age 50. When she retired as a rogue and adventurer, she started to relearn her old skills with potions and herbs that she learned from her mother. Follows Chauntea. Tabby's monk trainer: Hilank Monch. Monk Of The Old Order. Level 17. Age 40. Trained Tabby up to level one. While he no longer trains the Tabaxi, sometimes he sends his son to Shadowdale to make sure she keeps up her skills! Tabby's monk partner: Erolf Monch. Monk of the Old Order. Level 5. Age 21. He usually was partnered up with Tabby during training classes. Visits Shadowdale a few times a year to make sure Tabby doesn't slack on her monk skills. If he determines her skills are not improving, the 'Old Man' will come. Tabby has an adorable crush on the guy. Tabby's Tabaxi teacher: Smoke On The Water. Rogue. Level 10. Used to teach Tabaxi important Tabaxi skills. Such as their language and history. Was probably ripping them off. Has not seen Tabby in years. The rest would be NPCs in Shadowdale. blueroseofwinter88@...> wrote:

Question for Luna Eclipse 7
I can't seem to find information on Beslen's deity, Belenus. What sourcebook(s) is that god in? Is he an interloper deity or whatever it's called from Greyhawk or some other campaign setting? Because I don't ever recall seeing the mention of that deity anywhere in Forgotten Realms lore. Just would be good to know for player knowledge at least. And if he definitely isn't a Faerunian god, from one of the demi-human pantheons, or another human culture of gods, ie: the Zakhara pantheon, then it's pretty much a sure bet that Raina would not have heard of him either. Wouldn't even have to make a check for that. Or if I did, there would definitely be disadvantage on the check. And if for some reason, she had managed to pass the check, then we could easily come up with a good IC reason for that. Such as some passer-by through the woods one day came preaching through about the glory of Belenus or some such, and wanted to act in his name, perhaps being a Chosen of the god himself or something. Ahem.. a bit off track there, but I am curious to know. Thanks in advance.

NPCs, both random and not so random.... 7
I was wondering if we could add in various mentions of NPCs (not necessarily important ones, just run-of-the-mill type npcs that may or may not have much, if any importance). I know I've done this before, as not ever mentioning anyone else even as an extra, might be kinda difficult for me. NPCs like this, include the farmer/commoner that Raina had helped with calming down his spooked horse towards the start, the old man who entered the general goods store right after Raina had left it, the two "mooning" dwarfs in the tavern/inn, various animal npcs and so on and so forth. I just think it adds more depth to a lot of the posts (whether mine or someone else's if they decide to do the same). Just wasn't sure what the "house rules" on that are, though important npcs and events are always delegated to the DM of course. I know you said you were "breezy" about that, but thought I'd ask all the same. If the above sounds okay, I will continue to do so. Apologies if this sounds kinda weird that I'm just now asking it though.... And whenever Raina returns back to her family and druid circle in the High Forest, I would like to write for them and that scene as well.

Out Of Character - Day 3 225
Do we have a name for this thread? Other than Day 3? Not sure of any "good" titles right now, but perhaps tomorrow I can come up with something if someone else doesn't beat me to it. :)
